We're searching for a motivated Liquid Measurement Technician to join our team in Artesia, NM.


In this role, you will support field measurement operations by operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting liquid measurement systems and proving equipment used in custody transfer and production environments. You will work with industry-standard equipment such as ball provers, piston provers, LACT units, and a variety of meter types, ensuring accurate flow measurement and regulatory compliance. This is a hands-on field position that offers the opportunity to develop technical expertise in measurement systems, instrumentation, and data acquisition technologies. 


This is a hands-on field role offering strong exposure to measurement systems, instrumentation, and automation technologies (SCADA, PLCs, EFM flow computers).



What You'll Do

  • Operate and maintain ball provers and piston provers to verify meter accuracy 
  • Perform proving and calibration on LACT units and liquid measurement systems
  • Work with and troubleshoot various meter types, including Coriolis, turbine, positive displacement (PD), ultrasonic, and master meters
  • Utilize EFM flow computers, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and SCADA systems for data collection and monitoring
  • Collect spot and composite samples and safely handle hazardous and non-hazardous materials
  • Perform field calculations including API gravity and S&W (sediment and water) determination
  • Troubleshoot measurement and instrumentation issues; andperform minor repairs and adjustments
  • Create, update, and maintain accurate job tickets, field reports, and related documentation
  • Maintain tools, proving equipment, and vehicles in safe and working condition
  • Follow API, AGA, GPA, and ASTM standards along with company safety procedures
  • Communicate effectively with field teams, supervisors, and customers
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of education 
  • Previous experience in liquid measurement, meter proving, or oil and gas field operations 
  • Working knowledge of AGA, GPA, and API measurement standards and applicable regulatory requirements 
  • Experience with LACT units, flow meters, proving systems, SCADA systems, PLCs, or EFM flow computers 
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record 
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) strongly preferred 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain applicable state measurement certifications and other required qualifications


Work Schedule & Travel

  • Full-time position with a varying work schedule of 8-16 hours per day
  • Flexibility to participate in on-call rotation schedule, including weekends and evenings as needed
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, including hot, cold, and/or inclement temperatures
  • Daily local travel is required, with up to 20% overnight travel as needed to support other sites
