The Dry Dock looking for passionate and dynamic Front of House Team Members to join our team! Newly reopened in the summer of 2025, this beloved waterfront spot operated by the Luke’s Lobster team has been revitalized under the leadership of Chef Matt Ginn, “Chopped Champion” and formerly of Evo and Twelve. This is your chance to be part of an exciting new chapter, working alongside a talented team to bring the iconic Dry Dock back to life with a fresh and revitalized twist. Compensation & Benefits

  • Support** - $9.00/HR + tips 
    • **No experience but kind, honest, reliable + hard working? We’re willing to train! This is a great entry level position for people looking to get into the hospitality industry

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking Front of House teammates who are excited to be part of a still-new opening! If you’re passionate about creating memorable guest experiences and ready to make your mark on something special, we want to meet you! Experience with restaurants preferred but not required. If you are eager to help build a high-volume, multi-floor restaurant with expansive outdoor decks and a full beverage and raw bar program, then please apply! 

Duties & Responsibilities

We offer delicious, high-quality seafood that our guests love. To make that happen you’ll be-

  • Deliver friendly, attentive service and create a welcoming environment for all.
  • Accurately take, prepare, and serve food and beverages.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked work areas.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Support daily setup, breakdown, and side work as needed.

Qualifications

  • Willing to train the right person for all support roles.
  • Friendly, team-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional guest service.
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and attitude.
  • Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 10-25 lbs as needed.
  • Ability to handle shellfish / tolerate exposure to shellfish allergen (required)

About the Dry Dock 

Originally opened in 1983 and closed in 2018, the Dry Dock is a two-story restaurant facing the waterfront that will re-open with an expanded deck and renovated interiors this summer. The Luke’s Lobster team will operate the restaurant located at 84 Commercial Street, just down the street from their first Maine location on Portland Pier.

The Dry Dock will feature high quality, and responsibly sourced seafood including a premier raw bar in a warm, inviting atmosphere, with a full beverage program, intended for both visitors and locals alike.

Luke’s Lobster was founded in 2009 by Maine native and third-generation lobsterman, Luke Holden, to bring the quality lobster rolls of his youth to NYC. A certified B Corp, Luke’s now has over 25 locations across the US, locations in Japan and Singapore, and can be found in grocery stores nationwide.
