Aquatech has an immediate need for a full-time PE (Project Engineer) to work in our Baton Rouge Site location. The hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Project Engineer will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered an Exempt employee. The ideal candidate will have excellent math skills, applied creativity, mechanical skills, problem-solving, be team-oriented, customer service driven, and have attention to detail. This candidate should also have
experience in a project-related industry.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical)
  • Ten (10) years of experience in a project-related industry preferred
  • Prior water/wastewater infrastructure project experience preferred.

Job Description:
Primary Requirements
  • Primary location will be the Integrated Site Engineering office, with the Client and Construction Contractor.
  • Lead project design coordination with internal engineering departments, external engineering agencies, and Site Contractors, & Client Site Engineers.
  • Coordinate engineering document submissions to customers & vendors.
  • Expedite engineering deliverables and document requests from the Client.
  • Act as the primary liaison for the site office between Client, Site Contractor, and Aquatech.
  • Provide status, control, and progress reporting support services for all site activities on the project.
  • Attend the scheduled review meetings with the client at the site.
  • Attend Customer meetings as required.
  • Support correspondence with customers via the Project manager.
  • Attend Daily site meetings with clients at the site.
  • Assist in the Supervision of Construction activities at the site during the construction phase.
  • Site visits during the construction phase
  • Verify the project progress & prepare the monthly progress report for site works.
  • Expedite critical engineering solutions during the construction phase and work as an integrated team with the Client and Site Contractor to achieve success.
  • Ensure any Client design changes are properly communicated to the project team and properly managed through the change management control process.
  • Oversee as-built documentation for the project.
  • Solicit inputs from Site contractors on the progress of the project schedule.

Secondary Requirements
  • Preparation of Project documents
  • Review of Project specifications
  • Maintain the Project Master document list.
  • Facilitate timely engineering reviews of vendor quotes.
  • Review vendor quotes and purchase requisitions for compliance with project specifications.
  • Responsible for accurately reporting engineering progress in the project schedule.
  • Coordinate the collection of necessary inputs to the 3D model and resolution of issue tags.
  • Assist in updating the Primavera P6 schedule weekly with inputs from contractors.
  • Vendor follow-up & expediting
  • Periodic vendor visits to monitor progress.
  • Internal communication with all departments
  • Track material status in SAP & update project status
  • Preparation of packing slips & related shipment documentation.
  • Coordinate engineering responses to RFI from subcontractors
  • Work autonomously without constant guidance
  • Up to 30 % travel may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work with multiple disciplines.
  • Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks or projects with attention to detail.
  • Ability to use SAP software.
  • Ability to use MS Office software at a high level of proficiency.
  • Ability to use MS Projects and Primavera P6.
  • Ability to navigate the 3D model through Navisworks
  • Experience in using estimating software like RS Means, Sage (formerly Timberline), is an advantage
