Job description

Overview

Join the Titan Machinery team as a Case IH Diesel Mechanic. This position is responsible for performing diesel machinery diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and pre-delivery work on customer equipment, internal units, and warranty repairs at a high level of quality and efficiency. Work may be performed in the shop or in the field, and all assigned tasks must be completed safely, professionally, and profitably.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnostic, Repair, and Technical Expertise: Perform accurate diagnosis, repair, and reconditioning of machine systems and components in accordance with manufacturer specifications; provide professional, timely, and courteous field service as directed by the Service Manager, including potential weekend and after-hours service calls
  • Documentation and Communication: Communicate findings, repair needs, and expected timelines clearly with equipment owners, operators, and the service team; request, install, and manage all parts and supplies required for equipment repairs. Complete work orders and all required service-related documentation accurately and in a timely manner
  • Technical Development and Customer Focus: Participate in ongoing professional and technical training to maintain current product knowledge and service capabilities; proactively recommend maintenance, upgrades, or solutions that add value for customers and improve equipment performance
  • Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety rules, policies, and regulations while performing work assignments

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Have 2+ years of related experience OR an Associate's Degree in Diesel Equipment Technology or related program
  • 1+ years of successfully completing tasks with limited supervision
  • Clean driving record
  • Must have own tools
  • Must have or have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Certification
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time with occasional overnights and perform 50% or more work offsite/in the field
  • Ability to work flexible/on-call hours
  • Keen attention to detail, high level of initiative, and the ability to work independently 
  • Exceptional documentation and communication abilities 

Preferred:

  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to travel to customer and company locations
