Dialysis Technician II (DT)

Full-time position @ Wilkes Dialysis Center, North Wilkesboro, NC

Health Systems Management, Inc. (HSM) is a full-service healthcare management organization providing a full range of development, management, and administrative services for dialysis facilities over the past 35 years in Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. HSM has an outstanding reputation in the renal community for providing high quality patient care and encouraging physician input while maintaining efficient business operations. We are currently seeking compassionate, dedicated, and highly motivated Dialysis Technicians to join our dialysis team.

Responsibilities and Physical Demands:

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job.

  • Practices in accordance with the HSM organizational philosophy, goals, and standards of care.
  • ensures a secure and safe patient environment by following policies, procedures, and standards of care as established by government agencies, as well as HSM's internal policies.
  • Clean / disinfects machine and bay area post treatment.
  • Mix acid and/or bicarb.
  • Opens and/or close facility.
  • Stocks treatment bay area and warehouse while maintaining a clean safe environment.
  • Processes patient lab work.
  • Switch out sharps containers when full.
  • Replace empty oxygen tanks.
  • Completes assigned in-service programs required by HSM, in addition to attending all mandatory classes.
  • Participates in cost containment activities.
  • Accountable for other duties as assigned.
  • Prepares the patient and access for treatment initiation by getting weight and taking temperature.
  • Transports patients to dialysis station for initiation of treatment.
  • Returns patient to lobby after treatment.
  • This position requires frequent and prolonged periods of standing and bending.


Education Requirements and Position Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Successful completion of classroom orientation quizzes and final exam.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule and to fill in when needed.
  • Excellent bedside manner and communication skills.
  • Employee must successfully pass the Ishihara’s Color Blind Test.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
