Walt Churchill’s Market is looking for a Full-Time Deli Clerk for our Perrysburg, OH location.

Job Summary:


The Deli Clerk provides exceptional customer service while supporting daily deli operations. This role includes assisting customers at the deli counter, on the sales floor, and over the phone, as well as preparing products, maintaining food safety standards, and completing cleaning duties. This position requires evening and weekend availability and may serve in a leadership capacity when needed. The typical schedule for this position will be four weekdays and one weekend night per week from 1 PM to 9 PM.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers promptly, answering questions, and assisting with purchases
  • Package, wrap, price, and merchandise Deli Department products
  • Maintain strong product knowledge of deli items including cold salads, dips, lunchmeats, cheeses, and prepared foods
  • Properly date all items, check expiration dates, ensure freshness, and rotate stock (FIFO)
  • Maintain sanitation, food safety, and food storage standards in accordance with company policies and health department regulations
  • Perform cleaning duties including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, surface sanitation, and washing dishes
  • Prepare cold salads, dips, and grab-and-go items including pasta salads, potato salads, coleslaw, tuna salad, pizzas, lettuce salads, sandwiches, wraps, and dips
  • Safely and effectively operate deli equipment such as slicers, steamers, fryers, rotisserie ovens, combi-ovens, smokers, and knives
  • Put away stock in coolers, freezers, and dry storage while rotating product and maintaining organized storage areas
  • Obtain and/or maintain ServSafe Food Safety Certification
  • Train and support new Deli Clerks as assigned
  • Serve as Shift Lead in the absence of a manager, including case setup, setting production lists, and ensuring team members remain on task
