Job description

Job Description Maintenance Technician Location: Milton, ON Position Type: Full-Time | Permanent Shift: 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM Pay: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour Primary Responsibilities Perform all assigned tasks accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with the highest quality standards. Inspect, test, calibrate, repair, and maintain rental equipment following manufacturer specifications and company procedures. Prepare rental equipment by ensuring all required accessories, calibration certificates, operating manuals, and documentation are complete prior to dispatch

Provide technical support to customers through troubleshooting, equipment guidance, and user training. Assign and update equipment asset status, identification labels, and tracking information. Inspect returned equipment to verify that all units, accessories, and peripherals have been received and are in proper working condition.

Maintain accurate records of electrical safety inspections, environmental monitoring equipment, and consumable inventory. Coordinate with internal teams to request spare parts, accessories, and rental inventory required to maintain equipment availability. Maintain and update the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Chemical Register and review newly issued SDS documentation.

Support the maintenance of technical manuals, software libraries, and equipment documentation. Assist team members with daily operational activities as required. Participate in after-hours, weekend, and holiday emergency support when necessary.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while complying with company health and safety policies. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Core Competencies Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving skills.

Strong self-management skills with the ability to accept feedback, demonstrate accountability, support organizational goals, and maintain professional integrity. Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills.

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to read, understand, and follow company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, and work instructions. Knowledge of and commitment to proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and workplace safety practices.

Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities to identify and resolve technical issues. Reliable attendance with excellent punctuality and dependability. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capabilities.

Positive attitude with the ability to contribute to a collaborative and productive workplace. Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED required; completion of a skilled trade apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the environmental services or equipment rental industry is considered an asset. Previous experience servicing, maintaining, or repairing technical or environmental equipment preferred.

Proven experience interacting with customers and providing technical support in a professional manner. Excellent written, verbal, telephone, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting customers across various industries.

Strong understanding of workplace health and safety regulations and safe work practices.
