Position Title: Data Center Engineer 

Employment Location: On-site, 5 days a week

At Epsilon, we do more than collect and store data. We help some of the world's biggest brands discover real opportunities inside the data types, delimiters, and decimals. We are looking for a Data Center Engineer to help with running the day-to-day operations of our data center.

The person in this position will be responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the data center. Will assist team members with new builds in remote sites. Work with different departments within the company to deploy new environments. This person will be onsite in the data center, will be responsible for receiving new equipment, planning rack layouts and infrastructure cabling. Maintaining a clean and organized data center is a must.

Responsibilities

What You'll Achieve

Hardware installation & decommission of enterprise servers and cabling infrastructure. Troubleshooting and repair of data center hardware and networking infrastructure. Rack and stack of data center equipment, including but not limited to servers, networking devices, monitoring systems and other equipment. Rack installation including putting racks in place, cabling, power up and handoff of servers to internal provisioning teams. Monitoring of DC environments using monitoring tools Monitoring and respond in a ticketing environment that is used and monitored by multiple internal owners and teams. Documentation of activities and create/modify SOPs. Decommission life cycle of data center hardware. Inventory process, order replacement parts and return failed parts as required. Structured cabling, labelling, and troubleshooting of fiber/copper/telecom cables. System power supplies and cabling installation, troubleshooting and repair. Be able to execute small projects on your own and work with your manager in planning and executing larger local projects. Show professionalism on your daily data center routine activities. Receive/ship data center equipment as needed. Install, Remove, Troubleshoot hardware in data centers racks without disturbing other hardware and critical infrastructure on site. Maintain asset inventory and update internal applications as needed. Be accessible via cell phone and willing to work onsite as needed. Participate and complete training that aligns with corporate objectives to bridge skill gaps and learn new relevant technologies. Act within Service Level Agreements (SLA) on the tickets assigned to you in your space

Qualifications

What you'll bring with you:

5+ years of professional experience working in a data center environment. Knowledge of data center power types and standards Troubleshooting Experience on servers, networking devices and IT equipment. Capability to lift at least 75 pounds of weight for rack installation and other activities. Knowledge of Dell iDRAC and PowerEdge Servers along with other types of servers, storage, and network hardware. Inventory management experience, including ordering, receiving, and shipping server parts. Strong interest in learning new DC concepts. Ability to prioritize work based on business needs and urgency. Ability to communicate and write effectively in both verbal and written communication mediums. Be a good team player, who is capable of being dependable and trustworthy. Experience taking on-call shifts and ability to respond to critical events as needed. Experience escalating issues to Sr. onsite staff and management as needed.

 Compensation Range: USD $63,600.00 - USD $118,000.00/Annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met.
