Purpose Statement of Crossroads Community Church

Crossroads Community Church seeks to transform lives through loving relationships with God, each other, and those who do not know Jesus yet.


Position Summary

The Technical Director executes the vision of a high-energy, modern worship experience across the entire church facility. This role creates a seamless, distraction-free environment using concert-grade audio, dynamic LED/intelligent lighting, and broadcast video. The Director achieves this by building a thriving community of volunteers, directly leading one multi-skilled AVL Associate and two part-time "on-call" AVL Associates, and managing all technical elements across multiple campus venues.

Position Qualifications/Specifications:


Minimum/Preferred Experience: This role requires 5-8 years of hands-on production experience and at least 3 to 5 years in a dedicated leadership or management position overseeing large-scale audio, video, lighting, and streaming systems for high-capacity worship environments.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies:

Technical Skills


  • Audio: Experience with professional Yamaha mixing consoles (e.g., Rivage PM, CL/QL series) and native Dante integration workflows, along with Waves plugins.
  • Lighting: Mastery of Grand MA, ETC and/or other professional lighting platforms and consoles (e.g., Eos Family, Hog, Onyx) alongside intelligent fixture programming and pixel mapping.
  • Network Infrastructure: Mastery of Dante networks, including Dante Controller, virtual soundcards, domain manager, and multicast routing across a multi-venue facility. (Dante Certification Level 2 or 3 preferred).
  • Video: Knowledge of multi-cam switchers, IMAG (Image Magnification), and RESI streaming.
  • Software: Advanced proficiency in ProPresenter and Planning Center Services.


Specific Responsibilities, Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Weekend Service Execution & Crisis Management

  1. Maintain continuous mobility across the campus during all weekend services to actively monitor technical execution.
  2. Troubleshoot and resolve real-time technical failures instantly under high-pressure live production conditions.
  3. Direct main auditorium services to deliver a high-impact, modern concert-style worship environment.
  4. Program intelligent lighting and LED walls to match the emotional flow of the music.

Multi-Venue Oversight & Campus Infrastructure

  1. Manage all technical venues across the campus, including the main auditorium, youth/children's spaces, chapels, and meeting rooms.
  2. Maintain campus-wide network routing, prioritizing robust Dante audio networks and video distribution systems between venues.
  3. Standardize equipment and workflows across all rooms to ensure ease of use for other departments.
  4. Manage the production budget for ongoing maintenance, facility upgrades, and large-scale creative gear investments.

Team Leadership & Staff Development

  1. Manage and mentor one full-time AVL Associate, and two part-time "on-call" AVL Associates, delegating audio, video, and lighting tasks across different venues based on weekly priorities.
  2. Conduct regular check-ins and performance reviews to foster professional and spiritual growth.
  3. Recruit and audition volunteers for specialized modern production roles.
  4. Train non-technical staff and volunteers to confidently operate complex digital gear in secondary environments.
  5. Schedule all staff and volunteers weekly using Planning Center Services.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  1. Must be highly mobile, with the ability to move quickly across a large multi-venue campus for extended periods during weekend services.
  2. Requires flexible hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
  3. Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, climb ladders, or work on a lift scaffolding safely.
