PROFILE
Roncalli High School is a 9th through 12th-grade Catholic school located in Manitowoc,
Wisconsin. The school, part of Roncalli Catholic Schools, is a learning community that serves the
whole child – mind, body and spirit – while fostering academic excellence. Faculty and staff
promote the mission of Roncalli Catholic Schools and work toward providing the optimum
environment in which students may learn and develop their faith.

JOB SUMMARY
Position Description:
The custodian supports the mission of Roncalli Catholic Schools by maintaining a clean, safe,
and welcoming environment that reflects our commitment to dignity, stewardship, and Catholic
education. This role is responsible for daily cleaning, facility care, and event support across the
high school campus.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Cleaning amp; Sanitation
● Clean classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, locker rooms, outbuildings, and common
areas.
● Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect surfaces.
● Empty trash and recycling; restock paper products and supplies.
● Keep entrances, walkways, and high-traffic areas presentable throughout the day.
● Perform deep cleaning tasks as needed, especially during school breaks.

Facility Maintenance Support
● Perform basic repairs such as bulb replacement, tightening fixtures, minor patching, and
equipment cleaning.
● Report maintenance needs, safety hazards, or damage immediately to the Head of
Building and Grounds.
● Assist with seasonal work including snow removal, salt application, and outdoor debris
cleanup.
● Assist with field maintenance and set up for athletic events.

Events amp; School Activity Support
● Coordinate, set up, and take down/clean up for school events including Mass,
assemblies, athletics, concerts, meetings, etc.
● Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
● Provide custodial support for evening or weekend events when scheduled.

Safety and Compliance
● Follow Roncalli Catholic Schools’ safety procedures, cleaning protocols, and chemical-
handling guidelines.
● Maintain secure facilities by locking/unlocking doors as directed.
● Support emergency procedures and help ensure safe passageways inside and outside
the building.
● Attend meetings as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in custodial or facilities cleaning.
Required Skills/Abilities:
● Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to follow routines and safety procedures.
● Reliable, punctual, ability to work in a school environment with students and staff.
● Basic knowledge of custodial tools, floor machines, and minor maintenance tasks.
● Ability to maintain necessary certifications.
● CDL license preferred, but not require

Physical Requirements:
● Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs, perform physical tasks, perform repetitive tasks,
and operate cleaning equipment.
● Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust,
noise, and various building conditions.
● Ability to climb a ladder and work in high spaces.

Other Requirements:
● Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license, with no serious violations.
● Ability to use a computer or phone app for logging work hours.
● Dress professionally and/or wear appropriate Roncalli attire.
● Support the work study program during the summer months. This will include working
with students.
