Position: CTE Teacher - Manufacturing / STEM
FTE: 1.0
Rate: See Salary Schedule
Calendar: 180-Day
Notes: This position is for the 26/27 school year. 






Potential Courses Taught Include: Introduction to STEM (CIP: 140102) Introduction to Design Technology (CIP: 151301) Manufacturing Discoveries: (CIP: 470000) Computer Science Discoveries (CIP: 110701)

External Candidates (Including current PSD Substitutes and NON-Continuing PEA contracts)

Applicants must hold (or be eligible to obtain) a CTE teaching certificate with the appropriate 3 years full-time occupational experience-based endorsements:

  • V210100: CTE Technology Education: Must complete an approved CTE Plan 1 University Route teacher preparation program in Technology Education. 
    AND
  • Must hold a bachelor's degree.

Before the Initial CTE Certificate can be issued, applicant must also: 

  1. Apply for the Residency Teacher Certificate or add this endorsement to applicant's Basic Educator Certificate
  2. Successfully complete the Washington Educator Skills Test Endorsement (WEST-E) or other approved content knowledge test in the specific subject area the candidate is recommended for by their educational institution
  3. Take the Washington Educator Skills Test Basic (WEST-B) skills test in reading, writing, and math (or other approved test), if not already on file with OSPI
  4. Verify 2,000 hours of non-teaching occupational experience in the Technology Education program area in the past 10 years.
  • V141000: STEM: Must complete an approved CTE Plan 2 Business & Industry Route teacher preparation program. Verification of 6,000 hours of teaching experience in one or more of the following: Science, Technology, Engineering, OR Mathematics. V150100: Manufacturing Technology: Must complete an approved CTE Plan 2 Business & Industry Route teacher preparation program. Verification of 6,000 hours of occupational experience in the manufacturing industry. 


Additional Requirements

  • Must hold or be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED Certificationand OSHA Trainer Certifications
  • Pass Criminal Background Fingerprinting with WSP and FBI
  • Successfully complete OSPI required training
  • Must be willing to advise a CTSO organization, attend advisory meetings, and submit all required CTE documentation.
