Litigation Attorney Position Summary:
Litigation Attorneys are responsible for representing lenders, banks, and financial institutions to recover assets and manage default servicing cases through structured litigation. You will make court appearances, prepare legal documents, and achieve ideal case outcomes on behalf of assigned clients. You are responsible for representing the firm professionally through timeliness and compliant processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has strong organizational skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional client service.
Litigation Attorney Job Responsibilities:
  • Draft and prepare legal documents for court filing, including but not limited to pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Represent client interests; provide strategic legal counsel to staff and clients on a variety of issues.
  • Manage all contested, litigated, and commercial foreclosure files as well as Bankruptcy Cases across Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky
  • Handle complex title issues, multi-party disputes, guaranty enforcement, and commercial loan structures inherent to commercial matters
  • Develop and execute litigation strategy on contested matters; draft and argue dispositive motions
  • Review and file all bankruptcy pleadings; attend hearings; coordinate with trustees and opposing counsel in conjunction with Bankruptcy Staff
  • Attend and manage contested hearings, oral arguments, settlement conferences, mediations, and trials
  • Work cross-functionally with other attorneys, legal assistants, support staff, and external vendors.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).

Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) is required from a law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Ohio and being in good standing is required.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Indiana and/or State Bar of Kentucky is a plus.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in foreclosure, bankruptcy, title, collections, or creditors' rights preferred.
  • Knowledge of Ohio court procedures and filing requirements.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.

This is a full-time, in-office position, Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with an average of 40 hours per week. The position may require extended hours and flexible availability outside of the regular business schedule.
