What does a full time craps dealer do?

A Full Time Craps Dealer is responsible for operating the craps table in a casino, managing the game, handling bets, and ensuring that all rules are followed. They interact with players, announce the outcome of dice rolls, collect losing bets, and pay out winnings. Dealers must maintain a high level of customer service, be quick with mental math, and keep the game running smoothly and fairly throughout their shift.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a full time craps dealer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full Time Craps Dealer, you need strong mathematical ability, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of casino gaming rules, typically gained through dealer school or relevant certification. Familiarity with casino management systems, chip handling, and surveillance protocols is also important. Excellent customer service, communication, and the ability to remain calm under pressure help you engage players and handle disputes. These skills ensure smooth, fair, and enjoyable gaming experiences that contribute to the casino's reputation and compliance.

What are some common challenges faced by full time craps dealers, and how can they be managed?

Full-time craps dealers often face challenges such as maintaining focus and accuracy during fast-paced games, handling large volumes of cash and chips, and providing excellent customer service to a diverse group of players. The loud and energetic casino environment can also be physically and mentally demanding, especially during long shifts. Dealers manage these challenges by staying organized, practicing effective communication, and continually honing their math and multitasking skills.
