Ed Herrington Inc. is currently seeking full-time Contractor/Inside Sales for daytime Monday – Friday, 7a – 4p, Every other Saturday 7a-3p (Summer0 7a-1p (Winter).

SUMMARY: Proactively provides profitable sales growth through maintenance of strong relationships with current amp; new accounts, increased sales to current amp; new accounts, attending to the short-term needs of other projects, and cooperative interaction with all departments by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Develop and grow relationships and sales through effective time management.
  • Contacts prospective customers to explain features of services, costs, and advantages. Responds quickly to customer needs with complete and accurate information.
  • Manages assigned accounts for Ed Herrington, Inc. profitability.
  • Actively participates in sales initiative programs to increase sales and communications with assigned accounts.
  • Confers with customers/company managers to investigate/resolve complaints/discrepancies on product or services.
  • Assists credit manager with credit issues to safeguard financial interests in any given project.
  • Coordinates with various company services in the presentation of Ed Herrington, Inc. services to the customer. Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.
  • Participates in and contributes to discussions of quality improvements of customer service.
  • Maintains customer data records.
  • Provides accurate quotes of basic material lists.
  • Writes orders and schedules initiation of services.
  • Works closely with Pro-Sales staff to provide clerical and customer support.
  • Supports Counter Sales and assists at sales counters when necessary to provide outstanding customer service.
  • Participates in all required training assignments and trade show attendance.
  • Displays teamwork and effort in performance of all duties.
Supports the goals and objectives of Ed Herrington, Inc. through adherence to company policies, safety guidelines, and work requirements for successful completion of all assignments.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Required: High School Diploma or GED. Able to navigate and use vendor software when necessary. Having knowledge of general lumber, millwork, building supplies, engineered wood design amp; products a plus.
Preferred: Associate's degree or equivalent from 2-year college or technical school; or 1 - 2 years related experience and/or training in the building trades industry; or equivalent combination of education amp; experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This is largely a sedentary role with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; however, while performing the duties of this job the employee will need to frequently communicate with others and must be able to exchange accurate information; consistently operate a computer and other office equipment. The employee will need to occasionally move about to meet with customers, access files, and use other office equipment. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
