What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Full Time Content Writer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full Time Content Writer, you need excellent writing skills, strong grammar, creativity, and a firm grasp of research techniques, often supported by a degree in English, communications, or journalism. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) like WordPress, SEO tools, and basic HTML is typically important. Exceptional time management, attention to detail, and adaptability help writers stand out by consistently meeting deadlines and tailoring content to diverse audiences. These skills ensure the production of high-quality, engaging content that drives traffic and supports organizational goals.

What are some typical challenges full-time content writers face, and how can they effectively manage their workload?

Full-time content writers often juggle multiple projects with tight deadlines, which can make prioritization and time management challenging. They also need to adapt their writing style to suit different brands and audiences, requiring strong research and communication skills. Effective workload management involves setting clear goals, using project management tools, and maintaining open communication with editors and team members to clarify expectations and deadlines. Regular feedback and collaboration with other departments, such as marketing and design, also help ensure high-quality, cohesive content.

This position is full time, in-office, five days a week and located in Tyrone, Georgia.

Harbinger Marketing is a rapidly growing marketing company located in Tyrone, Georgia. The Person

As a member of the Harbinger team, the Content Marketing Specialist must demonstrate:

  • Planning & Organization – Skilled at prioritizing work, managing multiple timelines, and keeping complex workflows moving without dropping the ball.
  • Problem-Solving – Ability to identify challenges before they become problems and develop practical, efficient solutions.
  • Passion for Partner Success – A genuine drive to see each partner's brand show up well and stay relevant in their market.
  • Self-Confidence – Confidence in one's abilities, judgment, and decision-making.
  • Standard of Work – Commitment to excellence and delivering high-quality content and deliverables consistently across a large portfolio of partner accounts.
  • Professionalism – Ability to communicate effectively with partners, stakeholders, and team members, presenting a polished and professional image at all times.
  • Emotional Intelligence – Awareness and management of one's own emotions and the emotions of others, even under pressure.
  • Cost-Consciousness – Committed to working within capacity and maximizing the resources available, both for Harbinger and its partners.

The Role

Harbinger Marketing is seeking a Content Marketing Specialist to own a pod of partner accounts and manage the full content lifecycle, from quarterly planning through monthly execution. This role is built around strategy, coordination, and quality oversight. The specialist is accountable for the consistency, accuracy, and on-time delivery of content across their book of business, directing the work of writers, designers, and a modern AI-assisted workflow rather than producing every asset personally.

This is not a "write blog posts and schedule social media" role, nor is it a people management role. The specialist manages the content workflow and directs the contributors and tooling that support it. Our content programs exist to keep each partner's presence active, consistent, and on-brand — maintaining visibility and continuity across channels. The role requires the organizational discipline to support 20+ accounts concurrently without compromising quality.

You will work directly with Marketing Directors, Marketing Coordinators, designers, copywriters, and digital strategists to build content calendars, present quarterly content plans, and refine content based on partner goals.

Core Responsibilities

  • Pod Ownership: Own a pod of partner accounts end-to-end, covering planning, production coordination, quality oversight, and delivery.
  • Planning & Editorial Direction: Build and maintain content calendars and Quarterly Content Presentations (QCPs) that align with each partner's brand positioning and keep their presence active, consistent, and current across channels.
  • Content Direction & Quality Oversight: Direct, edit, and approve social media content, email campaigns, blog posts, and creative briefs across diverse industries, ensuring every piece meets Harbinger's quality standards and each partner's brand guidelines.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate the work of in-house team members, remote designers, and external contractors, managing assignments, timelines, and deliverables to ensure efficient, high-quality output. This is project management of the content workflow, not direct people management.
  • AI-Assisted Workflow: Work fluently alongside AI platforms such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Higgsfield, Midjourney, and other emerging tools to support ideation, drafting, and content scaling, while maintaining brand voice and quality standards across all final output.
  • Partner Playbook Stewardship: Maintain and continually improve content playbooks for each partner in your pod, ensuring they accurately capture voice, tone, pillars, and content direction.
  • Audience & Brand Context: Stay informed on each partner's audience, industry, and competitive landscape to ensure content remains relevant, credible, and appropriately positioned.
  • Content Audits: Review existing content libraries, identify gaps and opportunities, and make recommendations for improvement as needed.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in content marketing or social media engagement, ideally at an agency or in a multi-client environment.
  • Strong creative writing ability and the editorial judgment to audit, elevate, and polish content produced by others.
  • Fluency with AI platforms such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Higgsfield, Midjourney, and other emerging tools, with the ability to build and refine prompt-driven workflows while maintaining brand voice and quality standards.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to balance multiple partner accounts, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with partners and internal teams.
  • Highly organized and proactive — you keep project management tools current, flag issues before they become problems, and close the loop without being asked.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Google Suite, Meta platforms, and Mailchimp.
  • Experience coordinating or directing creative contributors, including remote designers and writers.
  • Experience managing automated email campaigns for partner communication and engagement.
  • Graphic design skills and experience with Adobe Creative Suite are a plus.

Salary: $40–50k based on experience.
