Job Responsibilities
Design, develop, modify, test, and document computer programs and systems using modern programming tools and advanced design techniques, including Colleague Envision, Java, and .NET. Meet with users and stakeholders to determine system requirements and business needs, translate requirements into functional specifications, and develop user instructions, testing plans, technical specifications, and system documentation.
Analyze and resolve processing issues using diverse technical support resources and systems analysis techniques. Provide technical support and training to system users, assist users with creating reports from diverse data sources using industry-standard tools such as Power BI and SQL, and help ensure effective use of applications and reporting systems.
Install, configure, administer, and maintain application software on test servers to facilitate user testing of critical systems. Support system testing and implementation activities, identify and resolve application issues, and collaborate with users and technical teams to ensure systems meet functional requirements and operate effectively.
This position will be located on the Midlands Technical College Beltline Campus.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma and work experience in computer programming. An associate's degree or a bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or related field ; or an associate's degree in computer science, computer technology or related field and two (2) years experience in computer system development and modification; or a high school diploma and four (4) years.
