Description:

Invariant, a bipartisan government relations and communications firm providing strategic advice to companies, trade associations, nonprofits, and individuals, seeks Communications and Public Affairs Interns for fall 2026. Preference will be given to candidates able to commit to a full-time internship.


Invariant is dedicated to providing interns with substantive, rewarding assignments that match their interests, providing an exciting work environment, and prioritizing opportunities for mentorship and professional growth. Interns will have the opportunity to learn about strategic communications and public affairs and help Invariantโ€™s clients build their brands. The firm's core values include collaboration, communication, accuracy, problem-solving, and innovation. Invariant also places a strong emphasis on helping interns develop a top-notch writing ability.


Responsibilities

ยท Interns perform a range of duties, including media and social media analysis, researching journalists, building media lists, and creating social media content.

ยท Interns research potential stakeholders and opportunities to position executives at conferences and through awards.

ยท Daily responsibilities will vary depending on the needs of the firm.


Qualifications

ยท Strong research and writing ability.

ยท High level of comfort with social media and other online platforms.

ยท Enthusiasm for news, public affairs, and/or public relations.

ยท Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator, is a plus.

ยท Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively.

ยท Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities and deadlines.

ยท Established attention to detail and willingness to take initiative.


Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Interns will begin their term with Invariant in person on August 31, 2026. The compensation for this position is $19/hour for undergraduate candidates and $24/hour for graduate candidates.
