Job description

Communications Specialist
DonorConnect is looking for a full-time Communications Specialist. The Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and executing communications initiatives that advance DonorConnect's organizational and departmental priorities for internal audiences. Working across the full spectrum of communications platforms, and in close collaboration with communications leads and specialists, this role develops and executes coordinated communications content and infrastructure that ensure consistent messaging and a unified organizational voice. The role serves as a strategic communications partner to internal stakeholders, helping to connect initiatives across functions, manage cross-functional communications projects, and align communication efforts, leveraging expertise to deliver focused communications that build trust and reinforce organizational values.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Training/Education/Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience

Experience Required:
  • Minimum of three years working in communications, marketing, or public relations
  • Nonprofit organization and/or healthcare experience preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with demonstrated ability to work within established brand standards and incorporate feedback through collaborative review and approval processes
  • Strong strategic thinking and project management skills
  • Knowledge of related computer applications
  • Well organized, accurate, and attentive to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Sensitive with ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Able to work independently and to prioritize work
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to move up to 25 pounds at times with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to stoop, squat, or bend frequently
  • Ability to reason logically and make sound decisions, to consider alternative and diverse perspectives, to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
