Description
About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on, operationally focused Director of Operations to lead and integrate Astrana's operational strategy into a newly acquired network of Value-based care clinical sites.
As a key leader within Astrana Health, this individual will play a critical role in stabilizing operations, supporting provider engagement, optimizing processes, leveraging analytics, and implementing scalable solutions that deliver measurable impact across a multi-site clinic network. The Director will partner closely with clinic leadership to ensure continuity of care and drive performance improvement.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth, transitional healthcare environments and has experience with clinic integrations. The right candidate brings a strong ability to execute, standardize, and lead through analytical capabilities, operational leadership experience, and a passion for improving performance through data, automation, and innovation.

What You'll Do
Operational Leadership
  • Oversee operations across a multi-site clinical network, ensuring efficient workflows, high performance, and compliance with organizational standards
  • Lead post-acquisition integration efforts, ensuring a smooth transition of employees, providers, and workflows
  • Stabilize clinic operations by addressing gaps in staffing and workflow while identifying operational inefficiencies, developing solutions, and implementing process improvements to enhance scalability and performance
  • Partner with clinical and operational leaders to optimize resource utilization, reduce claim denial rates, and maximize revenue opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with organizational, regulatory, and quality standards
  • Ensure effective utilization of Athena EMR and other operational systems
  • Standardize workflows and implement best practices across clinic sites
  • Leverage data tools (e.g., EMRs such as Athena, SQL, Power BI) to generate actionable insights and inform operational decision-making
  • Build and maintain dashboards tracking key performance indicators such as claim denials, clinic throughput, patient satisfaction, and financial performance
  • Conduct quantitative analysis to identify trends, diagnose root causes, and recommend data-driven solutions
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives from concept through execution, ensuring clear objectives, timelines, and measurable outcomes
  • Develop and implement action plans to address high-priority operational challenges
  • Drive innovation by automating manual processes using tools such as Microsoft Power Automate, Python, or advanced Excel
  • Lead and develop clinic managers and front-line employees to meet operational goals and performance expectations
  • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement by providing clear expectations, coaching, and ongoing performance feedback
  • Support workforce stability and engagement during and after post-acquisition transition

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in healthcare operations, data analytics, or a related field (managed care or health tech experience preferred)
  • Proven experience leading clinic operations, integrations, or turnaround efforts
  • Strong quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide data-backed insights
  • Hands-on experience with data tools such as SQL, Power BI, and advanced Excel (Power Query, VBA)
  • Demonstrated success managing multi-site operations in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change and ambiguity

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with EMR systems (eClinicalWorks strongly preferred)
  • Technical experience with SQL, Python, or automation tools such as Microsoft Power Automate
  • Background in engineering or technical roles with the ability to bridge business and technical stakeholders
