Analyzes complex dataprocessing requirements and system workflows within an agile environment to design, improve, and support scalable computer systems and software components. Gathers and refines system requirements and specifications to support robust technology solutions. Creates user stories with clear and concise system requirements for APIs, data stores, and user interfaces (UIs). Provides analysis leadership on complex systems analysis projects, often across subsystems and companies, in a matrix organization. Consults with business users to develop recommendations that address difficult and complex business needs and opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leads and conducts interviews with business users to gather requirements, and analyzes technology needs, and system and workflow challenges.
  • Develops recommendations that address difficult and complex business needs and opportunities.
  • Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex systems analysis projects, and defines project scope.
  • Leads other analysts in the execution of documents on large and complex projects and monitors the quality and progress of documents created by other analysts.
  • Designs new systems based on requirements.
  • Leads and participates in the definition of test strategies, and coordinates user acceptance testing efforts.
  • Communicates progress of multiple projects to management, engages stakeholders on a regular basis, and manages expectations of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Works with other teams to evolve standards and best practices for systems analysis processes.
  • Participates in incident/crisis management to assess business impact, determine/facilitate any workarounds, in concert with the production support organization.
  • Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies.
  • Mentors junior product analysts and developers on systems analysis techniques and business workflows.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Systems Analyst (or closely related occupation) administering and configuring enterprise SaaS tools (Jira and Jira Align), documenting business and functional requirements, conducting data analysis and API testing, and supporting Agile processes within a technology environment.

Or, alternatively, Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Systems Analyst (or closely related occupation) administering and configuring enterprise SaaS tools (Jira and Jira Align), documenting business and functional requirements, conducting data analysis and API testing, and supporting Agile processes within a technology environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") administering and configuring enterprise SaaS platforms using Jira, Jira Align, and Confluence, including performing workflow and portfolio design, environment setup, upgrades, and health monitoring; executing functional and regression testing using ServiceNow and pgAdmin; and supporting release readiness through development of support models, RACI and ownership matrices, and change management deliverables (user guides, training, and pilot access), to ensure standardized, reliable operations in a regulated environment.
  • DE participating in the delivery of system functionality and Agile planning activities; eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business and functional requirements, features, and user stories using Jira, Confluence, and MS Office Suite with clear acceptance criteria; performing As Is and To Be gap analysis; and maintaining end to end requirements traceability (RTMs) to ensure completeness, testability, and alignment with business objectives.
  • DE performing data analysis and building dashboards using SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Power BI, and Tableau; validating REST API contracts using Postman and Swagger; and sup-porting access management and RBAC by modeling system dependencies, integration points, and security requirements.
  • DE supporting Agile delivery by participating in ceremonies, triaging work intake, and monitoring risks and dependencies; and configuring Jira and Jira Align to support portfolio level visibility and reporting.
