Position Summary

The Christian Mental Health Professional (LMHP ) is responsible for conducting clinical intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, eligibility determinations, and crisis response services for individuals seeking behavioral health services at PTSD FOA.

This role integrates evidence-based clinical practices with Christ-centered compassion, ensuring services are delivered in a manner that is ethical, trauma-informed, compliant, and respectful of client autonomy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities1. Intake Assessments & Eligibility
  • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments for individuals seeking services
  • Determine presence of mental health and/or substance use disorders
  • Complete:
    • Psychosocial histories
    • Diagnostic assessments using DSM-5 criteria
  • Determine eligibility for services based on program guidelines
  • Coordinate with hospitals, referral sources, and community providers
2. Documentation & EHR Compliance
  • Complete all documentation on the same day services are rendered or within 48 hours of service day.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant:
    • Intake assessments
    • Progress notes
    • Diagnostic records
  • Ensure documentation supports:
    • Medical necessity
    • Continuity of care
    • Grant and audit requirements
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems effectively
3. Crisis Intervention & Clinical Support
  • Conduct crisis assessments for individuals
  • Lead de-escalation efforts in urgent situations
  • Collaborate with staff to determine appropriate disposition
  • Assist with group programming in coordination with peer support staff
4. Communication & Team Collaboration
  • Communicate effectively with:
    • Clinical team members
    • Peer staff
    • Outreach and program staff
  • Report regularly to the Manager of Clinical Training and Services
  • Participate in team meetings and care coordination activities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications and RequirementsEducation
  • Masterโ€™s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a mental health setting
  • Experience with trauma, PTSD, or crisis intervention preferred
  • Veteran experience preferred
  • Substance Use Disorder Diagnosis and Treatment
Licensure
  • Active Texas license:
    • LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist
    • Certified Christian Counselor
Additional Requirements
  • Valid Texas driverโ€™s license in good standing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHR systems
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Occasional exposure to clinical environments requiring PPE
  • Ability to respond to crisis situations on campus
Work Schedule
  • Monday โ€“ Friday, between 7:00 AM โ€“ 7:00 PM
  • Standard 8-hour workday with flexibility based on client and organizational needs
  • Combination of in-person and telehealth services
