Job description

Position Summary...The Director, Seller Compliance (Lifecycle) will lead the development and
execution of comprehensive compliance strategies across the seller lifecycle
within our marketplace ecosystem. The person in this role is responsible for ensuring that sellers meet regulatory, ethical, and operational standards throughout the seller’s lifecycle through ongoing monitoring and eventual offboarding. The right candidate will bring deep expertise in compliance, risk management, and marketplace operations, with a strong ability to influence cross -functional teams and drive scalable solutions.What you'll do...
  • Lifecycle Strategy & Oversight
    • Design and implement a holistic seller compliance framework covering lifecycle behaviors, monitoring, enforcement, and offboarding.
    • Develop risk-based segmentation models to tailor compliance requirements by seller type, geography, and product category.
  • Policy Development & Enforcement
    • Lead the creation and refinement of seller compliance policies.
    • Oversee enforcement mechanisms and escalation protocols for non-compliant behavior.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership
    • Partner with Legal, Product, Marketplace Risk, and Operations to align compliance initiatives with business goals.
    • Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership on emerging risks and regulatory changes impacting seller operations.
  • Technology & Automation
    • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to build tools that automate compliance checks, reporting, and seller communications.
    • Drive adoption of AI and machine learning models to proactively detect and prevent violations.
  • Monitoring & Reporting
    • Establish KPIs and dashboards to track compliance performance and trends across the seller base.
    • Prepare executive-level reports and presentations for internal governance committees and external regulators.
  • Training & Education
    • Develop and deliver training programs for sellers and internal teams on compliance expectations and best practices.
What you'll bring...
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Risk Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in compliance, risk, or marketplace operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling compliance programs in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of global regulatory frameworks (e.g., consumer protection, product safety, anti-money laundering).
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and influencing without direct authority.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in e-commerce, retail, or technology sectors.
  • Familiarity with seller onboarding platforms, KYC/AML tools, and compliance automation technologies.
  • Certification in compliance or risk management (e.g., CCEP, CRCM, CAMS).
