Global manufacturer of custom-engineered industrial materials, is seeking a Capital Project Engineer to lead facility engineering efforts, capital projects, and long-range infrastructure planning at its plant operation. This is a full-time, on-site role, ideal for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of technical execution, project leadership, and operational support.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage design, planning, budgeting, and execution of capital equipment and facility improvement projects
- Support mechanical systems (piping, HVAC, chilled water, compressed air, etc.) and structural upgrades within the plant
- Act as liaison for contractors, utilities, vendors, and internal stakeholders
- Maintain plant layouts, utility drawings, and documentation for regulatory compliance
- Champion safety, sustainability, and operational excellence initiatives
- Serve as internal consultant on complex engineering challenges and site improvements
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline required
- Proficiency using AutoCAD for plant layout and design tasks
- Strong technical knowledge of industrial utilities and building systems
- Proficient in project scoping, budgeting, scheduling, and contractor oversight
- Hands-on engineering aptitude with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
- Experience in a union manufacturing environment is a plus
