Job description

Responsibilities
This position requires processing all outcome studies including data requests from physicians, Network Cancer Committee, Pediatric Cancer Committee, administration, marketing, business development, KY Cancer Registry, and other outside sources. The position requires a thorough knowledge of the Cancer Registry data system, the American College of Surgeons Cancer Program and the National Cancer Data Base. The Cancer Data Compliance Specialist will design and produce statistical reports/graphs as requested for outcome reporting. The Cancer Data Compliance Specialist will review cancer data abstracts for accuracy in analysis of cancer data and will assist in training cancer data analysts as necessary in quality issues, including new cancer data standards. The Cancer Data Compliance Specialist will be available to assist with abstracting data to maintain the minimal six month abstracting standard. The Cancer Data Compliance Specialist will process the quality initiatives of Norton Cancer Institute with the assistance of the Manager and Supervisor of the Registry. The position reports NCI's NCDB Annual Call for Data and Quality reporting.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Three years working with National Cancer Registry
  • Three years as Certified Tumor Registrar
  • Associate Degree
  • Oncology Data Specialist (ODS)

Desired:
  • Five years working with National Cancer Registry
  • Bachelor Degree
  • Registered Health Information Administrator OR Registered Health Information Technician
