A locally owned, premium meat producer in Burlington, WA is looking for production butchers and meat cutters to support daily production. This is a hands-on role for dependable candidates who take pride in quality work, safe knife handling, and showing up on time. The position is a strong fit for someone with meat cutting, grocery meat department, food production, culinary prep, or related knife experience who wants to build a long-term career in the trade.
Pay will depend on demonstrated skill level. Candidates with limited cutting experience may be considered for a trainee or production-support path, while experienced cutters may qualify for the higher end of the range.
Role Type: Production butcher / meat cutter with room to grow into higher-level cutting work
Schedule: Full-time schedule; exact days and hours to be confirmed during the hiring process
Work Environment: Cold production setting with knives, equipment, sanitation standards, and physical work
What Youll Do
Cut, trim, portion, and prepare meat products according to production needs and quality standards.
Use knives, saws, grinders, and other equipment safely and correctly, depending on assigned work.
Follow food safety, sanitation, and product-handling procedures throughout the shift.
Maintain a steady pace while keeping cuts accurate and consistent.
Inspect product for quality and communicate issues or concerns to the appropriate lead or manager.
Keep the work area clean, organized, and stocked for production.
Work as part of a small team and follow direction from production leads and management.
What Were Looking For
Previous meat cutting, butcher, meat department, culinary prep, or production knife experience is preferred.
Strong attendance and on-time performance.
Reliable transportation to and from the Burlington area.
Comfort working in a cold production environment and standing for a full shift.
Ability to use knives safely and follow strict safety and sanitation procedures.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed and perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
A team-minded, quality-focused attitude and a willingness to keep learning.
Helpful Experience
Retail meat cutting, butcher shop, processing, smokehouse, grinding, sausage
Experience working around food safety standards, production schedules, or quality-control expectations.
Interest in growing toward a higher-level or journeyman meat cutter skill set over time.
