We are a mechanical contractor, specializing in fluid catalytic cracking units (FCCU), delayed coker units, and other critical projects in the refining, petrochemical, chemical, and power industries. Our team is trusted by leading industrial organizations to deliver their most complex process unit upgrades, revamps, and turnarounds.

Job Summary

We are looking for a full-time Business Development Representative  located in the Houston area.  This role will be eligible to participate in all sponsored benefit coverages designed for your health, your protection, and your future, as well you will have access to PTO at the time of hire and other benefits such the Degree Assistance Program.

The position will develop, generate, oversee and follow up on all sales leads and maintain on-going client relationships to support the best interest of the Company.  This will include identifying target customers, following up on all sales leads, assimilating Company sales forecasting, and acting as a direct liaison on behalf of the Company with client relations.    

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Meet regularly with target industrial petrochemical clients to develop, establish and maintain key contacts in the maintenance, turnaround, construction and procurement roles.
  • Promotes efforts to develop and secure small cap, large cap, turnaround and maintenance service activities with industrial clients across the country; while maintaining/developing customer relations on an on-going basis.
  • Attends and works trade shows for company, participates in lunch and learns, leads client building/fellowship activities, facilitate performance feedback from clients and remains active with client interaction to further foster relationships and gain market knowledge.
  • Ensures clients receive marketing literature and provide follow up with sales inquiries/proposals; answers any questions and obtains any further information necessary to secure clients work.
  • Reviews any questions or concerns with management regarding prospect potentials; discuss and provide any unique job scope procedures, financial parameters and/or timelines necessities with various departments to insure maximum opportunity is established to capture business opportunity.   
  • Follows up with customers before project execution, during project execution and after completion to ensure customers' expectations are met and resolves any concerns or issues in a timely manner with the appropriate department.
  • Negotiate in "good-faith" on behalf of the company any financial concerns, out-of-scope work clarifications and good will public relations as necessary to best benefit the company directives.
  • Assist with implementation of forms and written reports of sales activities including call reports, sales orders, backlog, forecasts, customer tracking, sales database upkeep, as well as maintaining contact list of key decision makers, their titles, responsibilities with a regular level of communication activities with all parties.
  • Accounts and tracks monthly expense reports and uses discretion with company funds in a manner that meets company policy and in accordance with direct supervisor.
Qualifications
  • A college degree is preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 3-10 years of experience in business development within the petrochemical or chemical industries , with a strong understanding of mechanical and technical application in the industry. 
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with supervisor, co-workers and subordinates are essential. 
  • Good leadership skills and proactive decision making and problem solving is necessary. 
  • The ability to oversee multiple tasks, customer correspondences' and maintain a detailed schedule is required.
  • Utilization of computer skills to navigate programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook to coordinate job activities is crucial. 
  • Must be able to meet all customer qualifications to access job site such as background check assessments, multiple and random drug testing and training requirements.

Physical Demands

Regular travel by airplane and automobile in conducting business is required.  Ability to communicate orally with customers, management and other co-workers, both individually and in front of a group is necessary.  Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential.  Activities include but are not limited to extended periods of sitting, extensive work at a computer, and physical necessities when visiting client work sites in the petrochemical industry.     

Good reasoning ability is required to solve a wide range of business problems.  Able to apply statistical calculations, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, and sampling theory as well as algebra, linear equations, and other analytics as required.  Able to understand and utilize contractual documents, timeline applications and legal documents to conduct business.
