Chipton-Ross is seeking 40 General Mechanics for a contract opportunity inSan Antonio, TX.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)
  • 4+ years of experience Depot Level/Heavy General maintenance
  • 4+ years of experience working various aircraft exterior and interior systems including hydraulic, flight control, monuments, landing gears, fuel systems, and engines
  • 4+ years of experience working various aircraft exterior and interior systems
  • 4+ years of experience in working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings and standard operating procedures.
  • Experience accessing aircraft data via computer
  • Able to work various shifts and/or an alternate baseline schedule that may frequently change to support mission requirements and may include weekends and holidays. Mission requirements and/or workload may require both scheduled and unscheduled overtime
  • Regular and predictable attendance is a requirement of this request.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform efforts associated with flight controls installation, removal and rigging. Landing gear and servicing of aircraft.
  • Perform essential component change outs for example servo pumps, filters and engine components.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specification, and retrofit requirements to perform structural modification/repair.
  • Access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate on-line parts and discrepancy requests
  • Maintain necessary certifications, licenses and permits as required for assigned work
  • Prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects
  • Use Hazardous Energy and Lock Out /Tag systems applications to ensure working environment is deemed safe for access and on the job performance
  • Use all equipment in accordance with established safety and operating procedures.
  • Assist other team members (Avionics, Structures, Electrics) in order to ensure cost/schedule targets are met.
  • Diagnose and correct malfunctions occurring in assembly processes.
  • Use precision measuring instruments, gauges, tools, etc., necessary to check dimensions and conformance to quality requirements.
  • This position requires the ability to pass an assessment during the training cycle.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)
  • Experience performing aircraft engine runs, and engine borescope inspections.
  • Operate an aircraft tug/tow vehicle, forklift, mobile crane, and riding type electric powered elevating equipment
  • Experience with REDARS and/or Gold-ESP

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • The candidate must be able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
  • Exposure to noise, working on elevated platforms
  • Use personal protective gear for face, eyes, ears, hand, and arms as required.
  • Pass visual acuity and color perception tests
  • Read, write, and comprehend the English language
  • Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous material
  • Obtain & maintain training certifications as required to support assignment responsibilities
  • Occasional (1 to 3 hrs) finger manipulation
  • On occasion, a 2-person lift may be necessary for weights greater than 50 lbs
  • Frequent reaching overhead (3 to 6 hrs)
  • Frequent walking on flat surfaces
  • Frequent standing flat or uneven surfaces
  • Frequent balancing on a ladder, steps, or uneven surfaces
  • Occasional climbing on 3-12 ft ladders or stands
  • Rotation of head/neck, sitting, crawling, squatting, bend/stoop, lying down, and operate foot controls for an extended period of time
  • Occasional contact with metals
  • Frequent exposure to noise

REQUIRED EDUCATION
High school diploma or GED and typically 1 or more years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
WORK HOURS
FULL TIME/VARIABLE SHIFT; All submitted candidates should be available to work variable shifts based on business need, 1st 2nd and 3rd shift.

Assessments will take place on day 1 of the assignment. Contractors who do not pass the assessment will be released back to their contract house immediately. Contractors who pass will continue on to training.
