Job description

Apple is where individual creativities gather together, committing to the values that lead to great work. Every new product we build, service we create, or Apple Store experience we deliver is the result of us making each other's ideas stronger. That happens because every one of us shares a belief that we can make something wonderful and share it with the world, changing lives for the better. It's the diversity of our people and their thinking that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do. When we bring everybody in, we can do the best work of our lives. Here, you'll do more than join something - you'll add something. Imagine what you could do here!
The System-Wide Quality organization is seeking an exceptional quality engineering manager to lead the User Experience Quality team-a unique black-box testing team that simulates real-world customer usage across Apple products to ensure we ship software that truly delights. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to shape the next chapter of User Experience Quality, leading the team through a multi-year evolution from periodic manual test passes to a comprehensive, continuous view of software quality at scale that directly influences executive decisions on product readiness, strategic priorities, and future quality investments.
Description
Unlike traditional QA teams focused on functional validation of specific apps or features, the User Experience Quality team takes a fundamentally different approach-assessing the function and feel of end-to-end use cases that matter most in our customers' daily lives.
This role requires a leader who possesses the same deep user experience intuition that makes the team's existing testing valuable while also championing innovation that amplifies its impact. You'll foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement while driving a transformative vision: evolving User Experience Quality from periodic manual testing into a holistic quality product that combines continuous AI-driven automation, focused manual test passes, and integrated data insights from across Apple.
Minimum Qualifications
BS in Computer Science, BS/BBA in Management, or 4+ years of equivalent software quality engineering experience
2+ years of experience in a managerial or team leadership capacity
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Creative thinker and strong problem solver with meticulous attention to detail
Proficiency with Apple operating systems, including iOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience leveraging Generative AI to create and optimize testing products and automation
Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for test automation and data analysis
Experience with objective and subjective analysis techniques
