Job description


As a Delivery Driver and Order Packer, you will be responsible for the efficient and accurate delivery of fresh produce to our valued customers. This role combines driving responsibilities with packer duties. Your focus will be on ensuring the quality of the product and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

1. Delivery Driving:

  • Plan delivery routes effectively, considering traffic conditions and customer locations, and customer specifications to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations during transportation.
  • Load and unload produce items from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling and maintaining product quality.
  • Follow delivery schedules and maintain effective communication with the dispatch team or supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, representing the company in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of each order, double-checking quantities and product quality.
  • Interact with customers at delivery locations, addressing any inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain a positive and customer-focused attitude, representing the company in a positive light.
  • Accurately document any delivery-related information as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

2. Order Packer:

  • Accurately pick and pack produce orders based on customer specifications, ensuring proper labeling and packaging.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of each order, double-checking quantities and product quality.
  • Organize packed orders for easy identification and retrieval during the delivery process.
  • Maintain a clean and organized packing area, following food safety guidelines and best practices.
  • Assist in loading vehicles for delivery.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements and Skills:

  • Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • To be eligible for this driver position, applicants must be at least 21 years of age and meet all company driver qualification and insurance requirements.
  • Driving Experience: Proven experience in driving and operating delivery vehicles, preferably with experience in food or produce delivery.
  • Must be comfortable and willing to operate and drive different types of vehicles, including boxed vans, high-profile vans, and box trucks.
  • Must have availability to work throughout the week, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, with a willingness to commit to full-time hours and weekend shifts.
  • Must be available to work 1st Shift scheduling hours and 3rd Shift Scheduling hours.
  • Customer Service Skills: Ability to provide exceptional customer service and handle customer inquiries and concerns professionally.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order picking, packing, and delivery.
  • Organizational Skills: Effective organizational skills to manage time, routes, and order accuracy.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing schedules, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of Food Safety: Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices
  • Basic Math Skills: Ability to perform basic math calculations for order quantities.
  • Excellent communications skills: Ability to effectively convey and exchange information, ideas, and thoughts with others in a clear, concise, and respectful manner, written and verbally.

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach overhead for extended periods of time.
  • Lift and carry products weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the entire shift.
  • Work in various temperature conditions (Freezers, refrigerated areas, or outdoors) for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent maneuvering in and out of vehicle.
  • Must be able to see, hear and talk to perform this job effectively and safely.
