Job Summary:
1910 is the only AI-native biotech, pioneering small and large molecule therapeutics discovery. As an AI Research Scientist I, you will contribute to drug design campaigns by applying AI/ML models and prototyping solutions while collaborating with senior team members.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Propose and prototype AI and Machine Learning solutions that address use cases in 1910โ€™s design pipeline
โ€ข Apply productized AI and Machine Learning models to advance 1910โ€™s active drug design campaigns with the support of senior members of the AI Research Team
โ€ข Write and publish peer reviewed scientific articles with the support of senior members of the AI Research Team
โ€ข Periodically presenting recent AI research at internal journal clubs
โ€ข Learn how a molecule processes through the drug discovery process
โ€ข Work cross-functionally with scientific colleagues, being a subject matter expert in how AI and Machine Learning can be used to answer cheminformatics and bioinformatics questions
โ€ข Keep up-to-date on cutting-edge research in the AI for drug discovery space
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข PhD in a relevant discipline (Computer Science, Biology, Chemistry, etc.)
โ€ข A strong understanding of statistics and classical machine learning methods (SVM, RF, etc.)
โ€ข Experience training and deploying cutting edge deep learning methods (Transformers, Graph Neural Networks, etc.)
โ€ข Demonstrated experience writing clean, maintainable, production-quality Python code, with examples available in code repositories.
โ€ข Familiarity with MLOps and DevOps best practices
โ€ข Exposure to distributed computing (Microsoft Azure, HPC Cluster, etc.)
โ€ข Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving projects and shifting priorities driven by business needs
โ€ข Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create clear documentation for roadmaps, proposals, and related materials
