The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

Nurses in the Center for Nursing Entrepreneurship (CNE) provide direct care services to individuals and groups in a variety of settings. This nurse will work primarily in the Rochester Passport Health office providing travel medicine services. As needed, the nurse will conduct biometric screening services in Monroe County and surrounding areas and provide travel medicine services at the Syracuse Passport Health office. This role focuses on providing the highest quality direct care services, enhancing access to CNE services and facilitating excellent customer experiences. The nurse will work collaboratively with the clinical and administrative leadership in the CNE and School of Nursing to assure efficiency of service delivery and coordination of services in multiple settings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide comprehensive travel care services including individualized recommendations and advice based on the client's health history, travel itinerary and best practice standards. Use technology and resources to augment service.
  • Maintain competency in current evidence regarding travel medicine services and apply to each client encounter. Comply with all regulations and standards (e.g. documentation) as required.
  • Administer required and recommended vaccines based on the client's needs/ health profile using standing orders as appropriate. Conduct mobile flu clinics.
  • Collaborate with team members, including the Passport Health Lead RN, to assure safe, efficient, and effective care. Travel to Syracuse office or other off-site clinics periodically as requested to promote collaboration.
  • Conduct point of care biometric screenings at employer sites throughout Monroe and surrounding counties.
  • Other duties as assigned: Participate in Quality Assurance, productivity reviews; participate in professional self-development; Maintain clinic standards per regulation, directive, professional standards.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
  • 2 years experience required
  • Expertise in adult nursing with 3 to 5 years' experience preferred and specialty certification desirable; preferred.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to apply evidence based and theory based assessments, interventions and evaluations to clinical situations; adapting care as needed required.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise independent nursing judgement and use critical thinking abilities to craft individualized care required.
  • Occasional travel to off-site locations and clinics, reliable means of transportation required (reimbursement for mileage provided).

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Licensed Registered Nurse in NYS required
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) required
