Job description

The Biomedical Technician II responds to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, perform repair/planned maintenance on progressively complex customer's biomedical equipment, and drives customer satisfaction through service excellence. The position responds to escalated issues from Biomedical Technician I team members.

Minimum Education

  • Associates Degree Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Related field, Biomedical Engineering Required or
  • Three years of related experience maybe considered in lieu of degree Required


Minimum Work Experience
ย 

  • 2 years Experience in the repair and maintenance of biomedical equipment Required

  • Evaluates complex, customer biomedical equipment issues and implements appropriate repairs.
  • Supports escalated issues from the Biomedical Technician I.
  • Performs planned maintenance, safety and environmental inspections, and maintains effective customer relations.
  • Follows and guides others as needed regarding appropriate policies, procedures, hospital protocol, and completes necessary documentation.
  • Establishes and engages in proactive daily communications with customers, to ensure resolution and proper follow up, leading to customer satisfaction.
  • Leads, instructs, and assists technicians on basic and complex repairs and resolution.
  • Documents all repair actions and submit reports/summaries according to schedule.
  • Ensures proper care of spares, tools and test equipment, and ensures calibration.
  • Maintains approved parts inventory.
  • Enhances and maintains technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures regarding safe and effective use of medical equipment through formal instruction.
  • Meets Health and Human Services, Environment Health and Safety requirements, and/or all other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Required to work a flexible schedule at varying times throughout the year to perform planned maintenance or repair work during non-clinical use hours.
  • Maintains a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
