Position: VP, Business and Government Deposit Services Sales Officer

Reports to:  VP, Business & Government Deposit Services Sales Manager                                                                        

Amount of Travel Required: Frequent travel

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for outside sales and business development efforts, focusing on building and growing deposit relationships with the businesses, nonprofits and government entities in Connecticut.-Penetrates markets and develops new relationships by calling on present and prospective customers as well as referrals and cross selling. Maintains and manages current customers with balances above an established threshold and is responsible for maintaining the overall relationship. The individual will meet certain monthly goals. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manages current and new customer relationships, with emphasis on growing the BGDS portfolio.
  • Develop and execute a consistent outside sales and networking strategy to win new deposit relationships.
  • Develop, grow and maintain municipal banking relationships within the Connecticut market.
  • Extensive knowledge of all deposit and cash management products.
  • Makes business calls to sell and market all bank products.
  • Makes business calls with  Retail Banking Team, Commercial Lenders and other business partners.
  • Identifies sales opportunities through needs-based assessments, campaigns, prospecting and marketing lists and makes referrals to other departments, accordingly.
  • Attains established individual goals through active participation in sales management and officer calling programs.
  • Identifies possible opportunities and innovations for increased profitable commercial business.
  • Develops commercial business and contributes to the bank's deposit growth strategies by cross selling bank products and services.
  • Ensures that all commercial customers maintain balances to offset applicable services provided. Discusses monthly analysis statements with assigned customers, while providing them with a high level of technical assistance and a superior level of customer service.
  • Responds to RFP (Request for Proposal) issued by potential customers and assists Cash Management Operations staff with preparation of presentation response.
  • Keeps abreast of legislation governing the commercial fields and ensures compliance with both bank policies and government guidelines.
  • Attends seminars, meetings and events sponsored by the bank, trade organizations, and other entities. 
  • Participates in the business community by participation in various organizations as approved by the Bank.
  • Must complete BSA, AML, and other Regulatory and Continuing Education as assigned.
  • Must adhere to all bank and regulatory policies and procedures specific to position.
  • Performs additional duties as requested.
