Water Balance Engineer Co-Op/Intern - Spring 2027
Where will you work: New Wales Manufacturing Facility at 3095 Highway 640 Mulberry, FL 33860 with travel to other FL locations. Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates.
A Water Balance Engineer Co-Op/Intern will support day-to-day engineering activities by assisting with basic design updates, compiling data for hydrologic and hydraulic evaluations, and organizing project documentation. What you'll do:
  • Help support basic design work for water and wastewater systems by updating drawings, layouts, and simple calculations with guidance from the team.
  • Assist with data collection and modeling tasks, like gathering site info (maps, elevations, drainage areas) and helping run or review results from modeling tools.
  • Support the team with permit and documentation tasks, organizing files and helping track requirements for projects.
  • Get hands-on experience in the field by joining site visits, taking notes/photos, and helping track project progress.
  • Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), tradespersons, and contractors.
  • Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment.
  • Adhering to Mosaic's mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies.

What you'll need:
  • Junior level or above by January 2027 pursuing a bachelor's in Chemical or Environmental Engineering.
  • 2.75 GPA or higher
  • Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment.
  • 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred.
  • Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.
  • Ability to work full time and be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship
  • Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Experience working in a team environment is a must
  • Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable
  • Effective verbal communication skills is a plus
  • Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments
