Parkway Veterinary Center is seeking a full-time technician to join our team in providing
exceptional care and superior service to the pets of Sarasota and Bradenton, Florida.
 
Our veterinary facility is a full-service small animal hospital which provides medical, soft tissue
surgery and dental services. We have in-house laboratory, digital radiology, and much more!
 
We recently moved into a new, larger and beautiful facility on the southeast corner of University
Parkway and Tuttle Avenue.
 
We are looking for a friendly and knowledgeable person to add to our amazing team of
professionals and perform the many essential functions of a veterinary technician. 
 
A Brief Summary of the Veterinary Technician Role In Our Hospital:
 
 Collect and record information about the client and patients.
 Advise, educate and explain our recommendations for preventative care.
 Perform routine procedures (including blood draws & placement of IV catheters, etc.).
 Administer vaccines or other treatments as directed by our DVMs.
 Admit patients, provide estimates and release forms.
 Perform laboratory evaluations and record results.
 Fill and refill prescriptions.
 Working knowledge of Avimark In-House Equipment, Digital X-ray Systems, Avimark
Veterinary Software, Microsoft Office, Email, Internet and blood machines.
 Position pets, take and process digital radiographs.
 Surgical prep, monitoring, clean up and repack of surgical packs and gowns.
 Perform dental hygiene procedures under the supervision of our DVMs. 
 
Qualifications and Skills:
 
This position is available for full-time applicants. Professional, mature, hard-working individuals
who have an ability to work with others is required. This position is open to technicians who
enjoy working with companion animals as well as exotic pets and their owners in a professional,
challenging setting, yet a relaxed and focused environment. Saturdays on rotation are required
for this position.
 

Excellent competitive wages depending upon experience and skill level.
 
Previous veterinary technician experience (minimum 1 year or more) required.  Highly skilled
technicians with advanced surgery experience are encouraged to apply!
