Full-Time

Orangeburg Ford is seeking an experienced, driven, and hands-on General Sales Manager (GSM) to lead our dealership's sales operations while helping shape the future of one of the region's most established Ford dealerships.

Our dealership offers new Ford vehicles, a large pre-owned inventory, a full-service automotive repair facility, a dedicated commercial and diesel truck service operation, and a fully stocked parts department. We are looking for a leader who understands how every department contributes to the customer experience and long-term dealership success.

This opportunity is ideal for an automotive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, develops high-performing teams, embraces technology, and believes that accountability, coaching, and customer satisfaction drive sustainable growth.

What You'll Do

  • Build a culture centered around accountability, professionalism, customer service, and continuous improvement

  • Oversee daily desk management, deal structure, inventory strategy, and pricing decisions

  • Monitor CRM activity, internet lead management, digital retailing, and follow-up performance

  • Analyze dealership KPIs, sales reports, inventory turn, gross profit, and operational metrics to drive informed decisions

  • Work closely with Finance, Fixed Operations, Parts, Service, and Executive Leadership to maximize overall dealership performance

  • Develop effective inventory strategies for both new and pre-owned vehicles

  • Maintain manufacturer standards and ensure compliance with dealership policies and procedures

  • Create an environment focused on employee development, leadership growth, and long-term retention

  • Lead by example through visibility on the sales floor, coaching, and active involvement in daily operations

  • Ensure an exceptional customer experience from first contact through delivery and beyond

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Five or more years of progressive automotive dealership management experience

  • Previous experience as a General Sales Manager, Sales Manager, or other senior automotive leadership role

  • Proven history of increasing sales volume, profitability, and operational performance

  • Strong leadership skills with a passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing people

  • Experience managing both new and pre-owned vehicle operations

  • Excellent understanding of CRM systems, internet sales, digital retailing, and modern dealership processes

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven business decisions

  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership abilities

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability

  • Ford brand experience is not required, but is highly desirable

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive compensation package with performance-based incentives

  • Paid Time Off (PTO)

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance

  • Company-paid life insurance

  • Company-paid short-term disability insurance

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

  • 401(k) with company match

  • Employee vehicle incentive program

  • Ongoing leadership development and career growth opportunities
