Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Gate Service Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of gate automation systems and security solutions. Your expertise will ensure the safety, security, and smooth operation of access control systems for commercial and residential clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced environment where your mechanical and technical skills can truly shine.

Duties

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair gate operators, access control systems, sensors, and related security equipment.
  • Conduct system diagnostics using schematics, remote access software, and testing tools to identify issues quickly and accurately.
  • Perform routine maintenance on mechanical components such as hinges, motors, locks, and power supplies to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Configure and program security systems low voltage wiring and telecommunication connections.
  • Collaborate with clients to assess their security needs; provide expert advice on system design and upgrades.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely to install cabling, conduit, sensors, and other hardware components in construction or retrofit projects.
  • Maintain detailed service records, update system documentation, and generate reports on completed work for accountability.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a service technician specializing in gate automation; construction or electrical background preferred.
  • Must have some experience with welding and metal fabrication.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience working with power tools, hand tools, schematics, and low voltage wiring.
  • Familiarity with computer networking concepts, remote access software, sensors, and telecommunication infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of system design principles for security installations including NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
  • Ability to read technical schematics accurately and interpret electrical diagrams related to security system installation.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose issues related to electrical components, cabling integrity, sensors, or software configurations.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with clients and team members while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; willingness to travel locally and surrounding areas for field service calls.
  • Must have your own truck and auto insurance.
