Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Gate Service Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of gate automation systems and security solutions. Your expertise will ensure the safety, security, and smooth operation of access control systems for commercial and residential clients. Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair gate operators, access control systems, sensors, and related security equipment.
- Conduct system diagnostics using schematics, remote access software, and testing tools to identify issues quickly and accurately.
- Perform routine maintenance on mechanical components such as hinges, motors, locks, and power supplies to ensure optimal system performance.
- Configure and program security systems low voltage wiring and telecommunication connections.
- Collaborate with clients to assess their security needs; provide expert advice on system design and upgrades.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to install cabling, conduit, sensors, and other hardware components in construction or retrofit projects.
- Maintain detailed service records, update system documentation, and generate reports on completed work for accountability.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician specializing in gate automation; construction or electrical background preferred.
- Must have some experience with welding and metal fabrication.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience working with power tools, hand tools, schematics, and low voltage wiring.
- Familiarity with computer networking concepts, remote access software, sensors, and telecommunication infrastructure.
- Knowledge of system design principles for security installations including NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Ability to read technical schematics accurately and interpret electrical diagrams related to security system installation.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose issues related to electrical components, cabling integrity, sensors, or software configurations.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with clients and team members while providing exceptional customer service.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; willingness to travel locally and surrounding areas for field service calls.
- Must have your own truck and auto insurance.
