Automotive Technician A or B+ – $100K+ Earning Potential – Flat Rate + Guarantee

Location: Troy, MI
Schedule: Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–6:00 PM | Saturday 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
Pay: $27–$35/hr Flat Rate (Based on Experience)
Weekly Guarantee: $600
Earning Potential: $100,000+ annually

Position Summary

Promotive is hiring an Experienced Automotive Technician (A or B+ Level) for a high-performing, modern repair shop in Troy, MI. This is a full-time opportunity offering flat rate pay with a weekly guarantee, consistent workflow, and realistic six-figure earning potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on all makes and models (domestic, Asian, and European)
  • Troubleshoot complex drivability issues, check engine lights, and engine performance concerns
  • Complete brake, suspension, steering, electrical, and engine repairs
  • Utilize modern diagnostic tools (Autel, Snap-On, Launch) to accurately identify issues
  • Perform Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVI) using TekMetric
  • Communicate findings clearly with service advisors to support accurate estimates
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace
  • Consistently produce and turn flagged hours while maintaining high-quality workmanship

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience as an automotive technician (A Level preferred)
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills (must be able to diagnose, not just replace parts)
  • Experience across domestic, Asian, and European vehicles
  • ASE certifications strongly preferred
  • State repair certifications required
  • Comfortable with scan tools, diagnostic software, and shop management systems
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and team-oriented
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
