HR Generalist

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana (Full-time, In-Person)

About the HR Generalist Role

That same level of care extends to how we operate internally. We're building a People function that is consistent, thoughtful, and high-quality, because how things run day-to-day directly shapes the experience of our team and, ultimately, the work we put out into the world.

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support core HR operations while serving as a trusted resource to employees and managers. This role balances administrative excellence with sound judgment, responsiveness, and follow-through.

What You'll Do

HR Operations & Administration

  • Support onboarding, off boarding, employee changes, and accurate personnel record management
  • Maintain HRIS data accuracy and ensure proper documentation
  • Keep HR processes organized and running efficiently

Employee Relations & Support

  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions and day-to-day concerns
  • Support managers and employees in addressing workplace issues, escalating more complex situations as appropriate
  • Ensure concerns are handled fairly, consistently, and with appropriate documentation

Benefits & Leave Management

  • Administer employee benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, disability, 401k, etc.), including enrollments and changes
  • Coordinate with external vendors and respond to employee benefit questions
  • Support leave of absence processes (FMLA, parental, medical), including tracking and communication

Policy & Compliance

  • Support maintenance and communication of company policies
  • Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Assist with audits, record keeping, and other compliance-related work

Culture & Engagement

  • Assist with employee engagement efforts, recognition programs, and team initiatives
  • Support internal communications and People team programs

Reporting & Projects

  • Track and report on core HR metrics such as headcount and turnover
  • Contribute to process improvements and ad hoc People projects as needed

  • Employee concerns are addressed thoughtfully, with appropriate documentation and escalation
  • HR data and documentation are accurate and well maintained

  • Work is executed with professionalism, discretion, and integrity

What You'll Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience in a generalist or similar HR role
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfort handling both administrative responsibilities and employee-facing situations
  • Sound judgment and ability to manage sensitive information with discretion
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms and standard office tools such as Google Workspace or Microsoft Office
