Schedule
Full Time, Day Shift (80 hours biweekly)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
General Summary
Provides radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by physician according to established Wellspan Oncology Servile Line standards and practices at a beginning or intermediate specialist skills level. Assists with CT-simulation procedures and/or other treatments/procedures as required.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
  • Delivers a prescribed and planned course of radiation therapy to patients; obtains patient history, answers patient questions, and explains procedure.
  • Checks prescription, diagnosis, chart, patient identification, etc.
  • Prepares room and equipment for patient.
  • Reinforces recommendations given to patient by the physician, nurses, dietician, etc., concerning reaction to treatment and care of the radiated area, prevention or treatment of generalized and local side effects.
  • Observes patient for any unusual reactions or events.
  • Performs IGRT tumor localization procedures.
  • Prepares patient and equipment for, and performs simulation procedures.

  • Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased patient safety. Participates in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
  • Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Completes annual required LMS training as assigned.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops. Maintains current ARRT certification.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation in the EHR as required by the profession and Wellspan Oncology Service Line.
  • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
  • Supervises, assists and evaluates students in the clinical education setting.
  • Aids in the training of radiation therapy students.

Qualifications
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
  • Associates Degree Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology Program Required

Work Experience:
  • Less than 1 year Relevant experience. Required

Licenses:
  • Registered Technologist-Radiation Therapy - ARRT within 180 days Required and
  • Basic Life Support within 180 days Required

Courses and Training:
  • Appropriate training in radiation therapy. Upon Hire Required
