Are you looking for adventure? Do you enjoy helping people? Our Village Public Safety Officer (VPSO) program in rural Alaska might be exactly what you're seeking!
As a VPSO, you'll serve as a first responder, providing law enforcement, emergency medical care, fire prevention and suppression, as well as search and rescue services in the Aleutian-Pribilof Islands and Kenai Peninsula regions of Alaska. Our program's motto says it all: First Responders, Last Frontier.
We are recruiting for a Village Public Safety Officer (VPSO): Full-time (37.5 hours per week) position in False Pass, Alaska a remote community located on the Aleutian Chain. Job duties include but are not limited to law enforcement, community policing, fire safety, prevention and suppression, emergency medical, and search and rescue. Applicants must pass a pre-employment physical fitness test, criminal background check, medical examination, and complete the 9-week VPSO Basic Training at the Alaska law Enforcement Training Academy, 2-week Emergency Trauma Technician certification, and the 2-week Rural Fire Protection Specialist certification course. Starting Salary Range: $70,765.00 - $81,315.00 DOE + benefits.
