Details:
Agile Business Analyst
Duration: 12 months
Location: Houston TX (2 day/week onsite)
Final interview would be in-person
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for analysis and design of new business systems and software applications. Perform business process analysis, assist in maintaining existing business software systems, documentation, training and support of business software applications and impacted stakeholders.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform analysis and design of new business software systems
  • Investigate user needs
  • Create system flow charts or process flow
  • Document new business applications
  • Documents operating procedures relating to the applications used
  • Develop and administer training programs
  • Provide operational and technical support of business applications
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned
  • Comply with all Company and HSE policies and procedures

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
  • BA or BS or equivalent experience is required
  • Strong experience as a business analyst
  • Ability to write IT project documents in support of the project and development efforts (business cases, feasibility study, project charter, scope documents and all related project artifacts)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to extensively analyze business processes and workflow. Experience in Value Stream Mapping and business process
  • Prior experience with Agile methodologies, especially with Scrum, Kanban, and other iterative practices in enterprise level application development
  • Sufficient level of technical background to provide highly credible leadership to development teams and to be able to evaluate complex project risks and issues accurately and objectively

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Extract requirements from business policies and processes as well as from current and future users through interaction and research
  • Anticipate requirements that will be needed in the future or that have not yet been considered that are essential to successful outcomes
  • Manage requirements that are essential to project success, ensure focus remains on core business needs, and not users' personal preferences, based on trends or outdated processes, or other non-essential modifications
  • Translate business requirements to technical requirements. This includes using powerful analysis and modeling tools to match strategic business objectives with practical technical solutions
  • Simplify requirements so that they are easily understood and consumed by teams, stakeholders, and product owners, especially in implementation
  • Verify requirements and reject implementations that do not advanced business objectives through analysis, testing, demonstration, and inspection
  • Lead, perform, and document process analysis activities including as-is-process identification, to-be-process design, gap analysis and provide a resolution
  • Support the implementation of the solution, provide training, drive user acceptance testing, define transition requirements and provide post implementation support
  • Lead change management activities including development of user manual, facilitating training, developing communication campaigns and other activities to ensure that business users understand and can easily adopt

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands
  • Strong technical aptitude to understand complex database design and create SQL queries as required to analyze or troubleshoot issues and/or update data through the backend
  • Proven ability to lead software development projects and ensure objectives, goals, and commitments are met
