About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Engineer - Full Stack to join our team as a Senior Engineer - Full Stack. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of modern web applications across UI, API, backend, and database layers. You will deliver integrated, scalable, and maintainable solutions that support business operations and application functionality across multiple systems and platforms. The role also provides technical leadership, influences technology and solution decisions, and supports consistent, scalable application delivery aligned with enterprise architecture and engineering standards.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the design, development, testing, implementation, and support of full stack web solutions across UI, API, backend, and database layers.

  • Support integration of front-end applications, backend services, REST APIs, and database components across enterprise systems.

  • Provide technical direction and solution leadership for scalable, secure, maintainable, and high-performing applications using React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Next.js, NestJS, Node.js, HTML, CSS, REST APIs, and SQL.

  • Translate business and functional requirements into end-to-end technical solutions aligned with enterprise architecture, engineering standards, security requirements, and long-term platform strategy.

  • Lead the development and enhancement of responsive, reusable, and user-friendly front-end components using React and Next.js.

  • Design and develop scalable backend services using NestJS and Node.js, including business logic, validation, authentication, authorization, exception handling, logging, and reusable service layers.

  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and service integrations across front-end applications, backend systems, enterprise platforms, and external partners.

  • Drive technical design reviews, code reviews, testing strategy, release readiness, and deployment activities to ensure solution quality and maintainability.

  • Partner with business, product, architecture, QA, operations, and engineering teams to ensure successful delivery of application enhancements and platform initiatives.

  • Guide and mentor engineers by providing technical feedback, promoting coding standards, and supporting consistent use of reusable patterns and best practices.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in full stack application development, including front-end, API, backend, and database development in enterprise environments.

  • Strong hands-on experience developing enterprise web applications using JavaScript and TypeScript.

  • Proven experience building and supporting backend applications using NestJS and Node.js.

  • Strong front-end development experience using React, Next.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.

  • Strong SQL and database development skills, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performance-tuned SQL.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Next.js capabilities such as App Router, server-side rendering, static generation, server components, middleware, API routes, and performance optimization.

  • Experience with state management and data-fetching approaches such as Redux Toolkit, Context API, React Query, or equivalent libraries.

  • Experience with API management, middleware integrations, microservices, messaging, and event-driven or asynchronous processing patterns.

  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated build and deployment tools, containerization using Docker, and DevOps practices.

  • Experience leading design reviews, code reviews, technical planning sessions, mentoring developers, promoting engineering standards, and contributing to application modernization or platform improvement initiatives.

Location: Toronto, ON

The hiring base salary range for this position is $99,200-$136,400 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual's knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
