BAE Systems is looking for a Full Stack Developer to develop, secure, operate, deliver and maintain a Federal Government Web Site.
Full Stack Web Developer Duties:
  • Manage the frontend and backend aspects of the web applications, ensuring seamless integration and functionality throughout the development lifecycle, from conceptualization to deployment and sustainment.
  • Design and develop user-facing interfaces, ensure the application is visually appealing, responsive, and optimized for performance across various devices and browsers.
  • Build and maintain server-side logic; create APIs, manage server infrastructure, and ensure secure and efficient data processing.
  • Design, implement, and manage databases; ensure data integrity, optimize performance, and handle database migrations and backups.
  • Develop and integrate RESTful APIs to enable communication between the frontend and backend components, ensuring smooth data flow and functionality.
  • Automate deployment processes, manage cloud infrastructure, and implement CI/CD pipelines to ensure scalability, reliability, and efficient application delivery.
  • Implement security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and data encryption, to protect applications from vulnerabilities. Conduct security audits and code reviews in accordance with industry best practices.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve bugs or performance issues to ensure a smooth user experience. Write and execute tests (unit, integration, and end-to-end) to maintain code quality.
  • Work closely with designers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs. Effectively communicate and participate in a collaborative team align technical efforts with project goals.
  • Staying updated with the latest technologies, frameworks, and industry trends. Continuously improve skills and explore innovative tools to enhance development practices.
  • Ensure applications are optimized for various platforms, devices, and operating systems, focusing on mobile responsiveness and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Track code changes, collaborate with team members, and manage version control to maintain codebase integrity.

Required Skills and Education
  • Frontend: 5+ years with React (JavaScript/TypeScript), HTML5, CSS3 - component design, state management, responsive UI, and accessibility (WCAG 2.1/Section 508).
  • Backend: 3-5 years with Node.js (or equivalent .NET/Java) - building RESTful APIs, authentication/authorization, and secure data handling.
  • Database: Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2017 (T-SQL, performance tuning, migrations, backups).
  • Web server & CDN: Hands-on with IIS 7+ and Akamai CDN configuration.
  • Cloud/Infra: Experience on Azure - App Service, Azure Functions, ARM/Terraform, and Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Version control & CI/CD: Proficient with Git (CLI) and pipeline design using Azure DevOps (or GitLab CI).
  • Security fundamentals: Secure coding practices, authentication/authorization, data encryption.
  • 508 / Accessibility: Knowledge of Section 508 and WCAG 2.1; familiarity with accessibility testing (e.g., axe, WAVE).
  • Automated testing: Unit, integration & end-to-end testing (Jest, Cypress, Selenium, or similar).
  • Clearance: Active Top-Secret clearance.
