Will AI replace full stack dev?

Full stack software engineers design and develop both front-end and back-end systems, and while AI tools can automate certain coding tasks, they are unlikely to fully replace the need for human developers. Continuous learning and adapting to new technologies remain essential for full stack developers.

What Is a Full Stack Software Engineer?

A full stack software engineer develops all aspects of a software application, from the user interface to the back-end database. As a full stack software engineer, your job duties include gathering customer requirements, writing the code to develop the application, and troubleshooting the application for any issues. The qualifications to pursue a career as a full stack software engineer include an associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field and proficiency in a variety of coding languages and frameworks.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Full Stack Software Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full Stack Software Engineer, you need strong proficiency in both front-end (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java) development, typically supported by a relevant degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with frameworks (like React or Angular), version control (such as Git), databases (SQL/NoSQL), and cloud platforms is essential, and certifications like AWS Certified Developer can be beneficial. Job description

Full-Stack Software Developer
Redwood City, CA or Toronto, Ontario, Canada | On-Site | Direct Hire

About the Company

Our client is an AI-native software company co-founded by one of Silicon Valley's most recognized investors. They are on a mission to replace the bloated enterprise software stack with purpose-built, fully-managed solutions designed from the ground up for each customer. Their platform covers the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements and planning through engineering, deployment, and support. They serve regulated industries including healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, and government, and count a Big Four firm among their marquee partners. The team is approximately 45 people, split between Redwood City and Toronto, and is growing steadily.

About the Role

We are looking for an exceptional full-stack software developer to join the Enterprise team as a forward-deployed engineer. In this role, you will lead client engagements end to end, building custom software solutions directly for the company's largest customers. You will also contribute to the development of the core platform itself. This is a high-ownership, customer-facing role that requires strong technical depth and the ability to work through ambiguous, real-world problems.

Responsibilities

  • Build customer solutions using the Software Factory platform and contribute to the platform's ongoing development
  • Own the complete lifecycle of the software you create, including development, testing, operation, maintenance, and support
  • Lead technical design discussions with client stakeholders and articulate well-engineered solutions to complex, ambiguous problems
  • Constantly evaluate how AI is changing software development practices and leverage AI tools to improve your own productivity and the team's output
  • Work effectively within a small, high-caliber engineering team built on engineering excellence, ownership, and radical candor

Required Skills

  • Expertise and extensive professional experience in full-stack web development — the team works in Python, TypeScript, React, and AWS
  • Ability to own problems end to end and pick up missing knowledge quickly to get the job done
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate internally and present to client stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ownership mindset — you identify opportunities, take initiative, and create value without waiting for direction
  • Experience building, shipping, and operating software in a real production environment

What Sets a Candidate Apart

  • Startup or founding engineer background — you have taken a product from concept to launch with a small team
  • Experience integrating LLMs into products, fine-tuning models, creating evaluations, or hosting AI/ML infrastructure at scale
  • Professional experience in DevOps, security, or cloud infrastructure — the team uses GitHub Actions, Docker, and AWS CDK extensively
  • Data engineering or data science background at scale

Compensation

$150,000 - $1,000,000 base salary, commensurate with experience, plus stock and/or stock option awards. Compensation may vary based on location, skills, knowledge, and experience.

Visa Sponsorship

Our client does not provide new work visa sponsorship. This position is open to candidates who are citizens, permanent residents, or are transferring an existing H-1B, O-1, L-1, or TN Visa.

Benefits

Noor Staffing Group offers medical, dental, vision, retirement, and paid time off benefits.
