Hybrid Every Other Week onsite / 5 days in either Merrimack, NH or TX

Our client seeks a Full Stack Engineer to support Defined Benefit technology initiatives. The role focuses on design and development of DB calculation engine applications, partnering with technology and business stakeholders, and operating within Agile/Scrum. The position requires strong Java and Spring expertise, defined benefits domain knowledge, and collaboration across distributed teams.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $55.00 to $63.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain Defined Benefit calculation engine applications using Java, Spring Framework, XML, HTML, JDBC, SQL, Sybase, JUnit, and JaCoCo.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Maven, Jenkins, Stash, and Sonar.
  • Operate within Agile/Scrum to deliver high-quality software.
  • Collaborate with application owners, solution architects, and business sponsors.
  • Ensure code meets performance, security, usability, reliability, and scalability requirements.
Experience Requirements:
  • 6+ years of development experience with Core Java, Spring Framework, XML, Web Services, and Sybase/SQL/relational databases.
  • Hands-on experience in actuarial science and the Defined Benefits domain.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum with distributed teams, including offshore.
  • Strong object-oriented analysis and design.
  • Knowledge of VBA and Excel add-ins is a plus.
  • Ability to develop technical designs from business requirements and follow architectural strategies.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Aptitude for learning new technologies.
Education Requirements:
  • BS or above in Computer Science or related field.
