Summary

We are seeking Full Stack Java Developers to join our team on a 1-year fixed term. As a Full Stack Java Developer at Deloitte, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based applications or software solutions for a leading North American Bank. This long-term staff augmentation role requires strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot (microservices), with additional experience in Python backend and React frontend development. The position involves technical leadership, project management, and collaboration with various stakeholders to drive innovation and process improvements, delivering high-quality solutions to our client.

What will your typical day look like?
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using Java (Spring Boot microservices), Python (backend), and React (frontend); experience with TypeScript is an asset.
  • Develop and maintain application documentation.
  • Ensure the security, performance, and scalability of applications.
  • Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks.
  • Ensure applications are thoroughly tested and meet quality standards before deployment.
  • Work closely with QA, DevOps, and UX/UI teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of software solutions.
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings and contribute to project success.
  • Collaborate with project managers to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Allocate tasks to team members and manage their workload.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Assess and manage risks, prioritizing the firm's reputation and safeguarding clients and assets.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Apply sound ethical judgment and escalate control issues transparently.

You are someone with these required skills, experience & qualifications:

  • Extensive professional experience in full stack development, with deep expertise in Java (Spring Boot microservices) and React (frontend). Python or TypeScript experience for backend components is also acceptable.
  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience with Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, RESTful API development, and Angular for front-end (React proficiency preferred).
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes, GitOps, SDLC best practices, CI/CD pipelines, feature flagging, and A/B testing.
  • Experience working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL), strong SQL skills, and ORM frameworks like Hibernate.
  • Understanding of large-scale distributed systems, performance engineering, data modeling, time/space complexity, algorithmic tradeoffs, race conditions, microservice consistency issues, sharding, and database scaling.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
  • Agile or Scrum environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent experience.


It would be great for you to have some of these nice to haves as well

  • Experience working in the financial services/banking industry.
  • Strong analytical ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks into manageable work products.
  • Ability to operate independently or with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to deliver technical demonstrations.

The salary range for this position is $72,000 - $138,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
