What you will be doing?

This position is contingent upon contract award. We are currently pursuing a proposal and are seeking qualified candidates to include in our submission and identify candidates for future hiring needs on the program once awarded.

  • Core Knowledge & Skills: Works across multiple languages and platforms, designs and implements architectural decisions, applies design patterns, cloud-native services, IAAS/PAAS/SAAS basics, and secure coding practices (e.g., OWASP Top 10).

  • Work & Complexity: Performs complex tasks under limited guidance, integrates and troubleshoots distributed or cloud services, and optimizes performance and scalability.

  • Quality & Independence: Sets a high bar for code quality, multitasks effectively, owns and corrects errors quickly, and drives continuous improvement.

As your initial project assignment, you will support the unique needs of our client as a Machine Learning Engineer. Project Summary

AIS is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer for an AI Engineering contract supporting a federal customer in a hybrid role in the DC/Maryland/Virginia (DMV) area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deploy software into production in government environments.

  • Build data pipelines and manage the full data lifecycle.

Required For This Opportunity
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (or closely related degree).

  • At least 3 years of experience in Software Development, Machine Learning, and/or AI Engineering.

  • Must have hands-on experience with Python, Python DS Tech Stack (tensorflow, scikit-learn, pandas, etc.), Kubernetes, Postgres, and Docker.

  • Must have a strong Python background.

  • Must have a proven track record of building data pipelines, managing the full data lifecycle, and developing and deploying software into production in government environments.

  • Must have an Active Secret Clearance.

Nice to Have Skills
  • A certification in Data Science, AI, or another related certification is preferred, but not required.
