What is a full stack JavaScript developer?

A Full Stack JavaScript developer is a software engineer who specializes in using JavaScript for both front-end and back-end development. This means they can build and manage the user interface (front-end) as well as the server, database, and application logic (back-end) using JavaScript technologies like React, Angular, Node.js, and Express. Full Stack JavaScript developers are valued for their versatility and ability to handle all layers of a web application. They often work with databases like MongoDB or PostgreSQL and are skilled in integrating APIs and handling deployment tasks. Their broad skill set allows for faster development cycles and more cohesive application design.

How does a full stack JavaScript developer typically collaborate with designers and backend specialists on a project?

Full Stack JavaScript developers often act as a bridge between frontend designers and backend specialists. They work closely with designers to implement user interfaces according to design specifications, ensuring responsiveness and functionality. At the same time, they coordinate with backend teams to integrate APIs and manage data flow, often reviewing and contributing to both client- and server-side code. Effective communication and a strong understanding of both design and server architecture are key to their collaborative success.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a full stack JavaScript developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full Stack JavaScript Developer, you need strong proficiency in JavaScript, along with experience in both front-end (e.g., React, Angular) and back-end (e.g., Node.js, Express) frameworks, typically supported by a relevant degree or equivalent practical experience. Familiarity with databases (such as MongoDB or PostgreSQL), version control systems like Git, and deployment tools or cloud platforms is essential. Problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and adaptability are standout soft skills for this role. These skills enable developers to build robust, scalable applications efficiently while collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Make an Impact Where It Matters Most

At Intelliforce, we build cloud-based applications that help mission teams move faster and work smarter. In this role, you will support full stack development across cloud applications and microservices, helping build software that is scalable, reliable, and ready for real operational use. This is a strong fit for an engineer who enjoys modern application development, clean service design, and working across both frontend and backend layers.

What Makes This Opportunity Stand Out

This role gives you the chance to work across the full application stack in a cloud-first environment. You will help build applications and microservices from the ground up, support modern delivery practices, and contribute to software that is designed to scale. The work blends development, cloud engineering, and service integration, so your impact shows up in both the user experience and the systems behind it.

At Intelliforce, your work is visible and your contributions matter. Because we support prime programs, our teams stay close to meaningful mission work with real momentum. Because we are a small business, leadership is accessible, communication is direct, and strong engineering gets noticed. Add in long-term stability, strong benefits, and a people-first culture, and this becomes more than another software role. It is a chance to build cloud applications that perform where it counts.

Here’s What Your Day-to-Day Could Include

  • Build and maintain cloud-based applications and microservices
  • Contribute across the full stack to deliver scalable, reliable software
  • Support application integration and service-to-service communication
  • Help improve development workflows, deployment practices, and delivery speed
  • Work with teammates to build modern applications that perform well in cloud environments
  • Contribute to testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement across the software lifecycle

Minimum Qualifications

  • Clearance: Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph, must be active. We do not have the ability to sponsor clearances
  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen. We cannot sponsor visas
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience or combined education
  • 3 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree plus 1 year of relevant experience
  • An active Top Secret clearance with CI polygraph within the last 7 years

Required Skills

  • Experience with full stack development of cloud-based applications and microservices

Desired Skills

  • Experience with Playwright, Cypress, 508 testing tools such as JAWS or NVDA, JMeter, Swagger, or similar API tools
  • Experience with Java, JavaScript, Python, or Ansible
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or CI/CD
Compensation Range: $128,000.00 - $165,000.00

*The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.
