Job description

Job Title:
Staff Engineer II - AI Full Stack Engineer
Location:
Block 23
What you'll do:
As a Staff Engineer II, you will provide advanced technical expertise and hands-on engineering support across Lending technology platforms, with a primary focus on solutions supporting the Lending Services Framework (LSF). You will work on moderately complex initiatives involving loan processing, servicing, integrations, and reporting, contributing to solution design and leading execution for assigned components.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with business partners, architects, and senior engineers to deliver AI-enabled full-stack solutions that support Lending operations and modernization efforts. You are expected to demonstrate strong technical judgment, guide junior engineers, and apply established architectural, security, and governance standards while continuing to grow toward broader technical leadership.
  • Contribute to the design, development, and delivery of AI-enabled, cloud-native full-stack solutions supporting Lending platforms and the Lending Services Framework (LSF) under the guidance of senior and principal engineers.
  • Apply AI-forward engineering practices, including Prompt Engineering, MCP, and RAG-based patterns, to improve automation, solution quality, and developer productivity within Lending solutions.
  • Design, develop, and maintain secure and scalable APIs using Azure API Management (APIM), following established standards for security, versioning, throttling, observability, and lifecycle management.
  • Perform hands-on full-stack development using Azure, .NET, Python, React (Vite framework), SQL, and ETL technologies, delivering production-ready solutions aligned to Lending business requirements.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot and approved internal LLMs) to accelerate development while adhering to governance, security, and compliance standards.
  • Implement and support CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Azure DevOps (ADO), and Azure Pipelines, ensuring reliable and repeatable deployments across Lending applications.
  • Support observability, monitoring, and performance practices to ensure Lending systems meet operational reliability, audit, and regulatory expectations.
  • Participate in solution and code reviews, providing feedback to ensure designs and implementations align with architectural standards and Lending volumetrics.
  • Collaborate with business partners, architects, QA, and cross-functional teams to translate Lending requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design artifacts, configurations, and operational procedures, in compliance with WAB IT standards.

What you'll need:
  • 7+ years of related experience in software engineering or IT development, with hands-on experience delivering full-stack applications in a Financial Services or Lending environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
  • Hands-on experience using Azure, .NET, C#, API, CI/CD, Python, React (Vite framework), SQL, and ETL technologies.
  • Previous technical leadership experience, such as leading features, components, or small workstreams, preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Financial Services or Banking, with experience supporting Lending platforms, loan servicing, integrations, or reporting strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience developing cloud-native solutions on Azure, including APIs, data integrations, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Practical experience using AI-assisted development techniques (e.g., Prompt Engineering, RAG patterns, or GenAI tools) within an enterprise development environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, industry standards, and secure software development practices.
  • Proven experience working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple deliverables simultaneously within Agile or DevOps environments.
  • Strong ability to align technical solutions with business objectives while adhering to intake, architectural review, and governance processes.
  • Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
  • May require up to 25% travel.

Benefits you'll love:
We offer all the important things you'd want - like competitive salaries, an ownership stake in the company, medical and dental insurance, time off, a great 401k matching program, tuition assistance program, an employee volunteer program, and a wellness program.
